SZA Stuns in Saree-inspired Look at AMAs 2026 Indian Designer Niharika Vivek Reveals BTS Journey

SZA has recently wore a saree-inspired ensemble at the American Music Awards 2026. The Indian designer, Niharika Vivek, shared a behind-the-scenes montage of the ensemble’s making, which includes her working for hours with her team.

Captioning the video, she shared, What a dream to see @sza wearing an indian brand to the @amas and winning!!!!! we used a 50 year old vintage kanjivaram silk saree for her corset alongside a whole bunch of beautiful satin silk for a gorgeous draped skirt with a cut out inspired by indian sarees. it’s such a huge honour to see an indian indie brand represented on a global stage by an international artist like @sza. we hope to see a lot more of this [three blue hearts] sidenote: we all think this might be one of the most beautiful colours on sza she’s never looked more radiant.”

SZA also shared a video of her walking, wearing the outfit. She wrote, “THANK YOU @amas THANK YOU CAMP !”

This is not the first time that the singer has worn a saree. When she visited India in 2025, she performed at Isha Foundation’s spiritual program in Tamil Nadu. She had also attended the Samyama retreat, which she called profound and chaotic.

Mika Singh Steps In to Support Ranveer Singh Amidst Don 3 Row

The ongoing controversy around the film Don 3 and Ranveer Singh has taken a new turn, with singer and composer Mika Singh publicly voicing his support for the actor. As a non-cooperation directive was earlier issued against Ranveer, Mika has promised to personally intervene and talk to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to help reach a resolution.

Ranveer, who was announced as the new face of Don in 2023, has found himself at the center of an industry dispute. After his exit from the project, reports emerged that he did so because he had creative differences with Excel Entertainment. According to reports, he was frustrated by production delays and a lack of a finalized script, while preferring a grittier tone for the film compared to the producers’ vision. The situation intensified when it was reported that the makers were exploring other casting options while Ranveer was still attached to the project.

The conflict eventually reached the FWICE after Excel Entertainment allegedly sought Rs 40–45 crore in damages from Ranveer. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit mentioned that producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had approached the federation, citing expenditures, including overseas recce trips and hotel bookings. On May 25, the FWICE issued a formal non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, alleging he had failed to respond to repeated summons.

Mika Singh, who has faced similar challenges with the FWICE in the past, said that he knows the body well and hopes to broker peace. Speaking to a media outlet, the singer defended Ranveer’s character, saying, “Ranveer Singh is such a good and down-to-earth person. I know FWICE very well, and I’ll personally meet them and talk to them. After all, we are the bhais.”

While the directive warns that affiliated workers across India would not work with him on future projects until the matter is addressed, Ranveer’s team has maintained a composed stance. In a brief statement, his team mentioned that he has consciously chosen to maintain silence and continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for everyone associated with the Don franchise.

RM Says BTS Did Makeup in The Hallway During Their First AMAs Appearance

South Korean boy band BTS made a triumphant return to the American Music Awards this year and swept major honours. The septet, consisting of RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook and V, took home the Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer for Swim and Best Male K-Pop Artist. This marked BTS’ third in-person appearance at the AMAs, after previously appearing virtually for one of the editions.
While their first appearance in 2017 introduced them to the American mainstream, their return in 2026 reflected just how far they have come as global superstars. The group is currently in the middle of their comeback world tour and took time out from their schedule to attend the awards. Following the ceremony, BTS spoke about the emotional milestone during their Las Vegas concert, with leader RM reflecting on their very first AMA experience nearly a decade ago.
Recalling their humble beginnings at the awards show, RM shared, “In 2017, nine years ago, when we first attended the AMAs, we literally had no green room. So, we had to do our make-up in the hallway. When the stars walked by, we were like, ‘We are sorry.’ But last night, we had the largest room. And everyone, every legend, every staff member, was so nice and kind to us. And we know it’s because of you all. It’s all thanks to you. We’ll always remember the night we had at the AMAs. We love you.”

Back in 2017, BTS created history by becoming the first Korean act to perform at the AMAs. They performed their hit track DNA, a moment widely considered a turning point in their career as they entered the American mainstream and accelerated their rise to global dominance.

Their 2026 appearance also marked a major chapter in their comeback journey, coming four years after the members completed their mandatory military service. This year, they released their comeback album, titled Arirang, and the group is currently touring the world as part of their highly anticipated reunion era.
