The duo has been in talks for some time, deliberating over various ideas, and have now settled on a compelling subject. Their project aims to delve into a shocking true story, sensitively portraying it on the big screen. Shooting is scheduled to commence around mid-2024, spanning two months at authentic locations, with initial location scouting set for the first quarter of 2024.

Meghna Gulzar, known for her poignant storytelling in films like Talwar, Raazi, Chhapaak, and Sam Bahadur, has meticulously researched this subject over the years, deeply moved by its narrative. Sidharth Malhotra resonated with the emotional depth of the script, prompting both parties to eagerly anticipate the collaboration.

Sidharth Malhotra, currently gearing up for releases in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force and Karan Johar’s production Yodha, is expected to commence filming for Dinesh Vijan’s project in early 2024 before diving into Meghna Gulzar’s film.

Meghna Gulzar’s most recent venture, Sam Bahadur, starring Vicky Kaushal, portrayed the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. The biopic, written by Bhavani Iyer, Shantanu Shrivastava, and Meghna herself, featured a stellar cast including Fatima Sana Shaikh as the late Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra as Silloo, Sam’s wife.

Mr Sai is close to former Chief Minister Raman Singh, who served from 2003 to 2018.
The new Chief Minister’s political journey started from the post of a sarpanch.
Mr Sai had been an MLA from 1990 to 1998. He was elected from Raigarh constituency in the 1999 Lok Sabha election.
He became Chhattisgarh BJP chief in 2006, and a Union Minister of State in the centre.
Mr Sai is considered close to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the BJP.
