Union home minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in Manipur on Sunday after fresh violence erupted. He directed officials to take all necessary steps to restore peace. The unrest, marked by attacks on legislators’ homes and killings in Jiribam, follows ethnic strife since May 2023, which has left over 220 dead and thousands displaced.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed the security situation in Manipur and directed top officials to take all possible steps to ensure peace in the Northeastern state, sources said.
