A gunman opened fire Monday outside the largest casino in Reno, Nevada, killing three people and wounding three others before being taken into custody, officials said.

A major shooting in Midtown Manhattan on Monday evening left an NYPD officer and two civilians wounded. A lone gunman opened fire near a corporate building on Park Avenue before being neutralised. The shooter is believed to be dead. One civilian is in critical condition, while the officer and another civilian are expected to survive.

The minister made the comments just days after a Meghalaya High Court bench led by Justice HS Thangkhiew criticised the state’s handling of illegal coal operations.
