The BJP faced unexpected protests in Jammu after releasing its first list of candidates for the J&K assembly elections. This dissent led the party to withdraw its original list and issue new ones. The party’s third term under PM Modi has seen several policy reversals, reflecting the pressures of coalition politics and the need to appease allies.

The incident came to light after a foul odour started emanating from the house of 35-year-old Mansur Shaikh in Bheta in Ausa tehsil this morning and neighbours alerted police.

A few devotees might have suffered minor injuries, while the police brought the situation under control quickly, Patna SSP Rajeev Mishra told reporters.
