Rajkummar Rao reveals why he does not compete with his ‘superstars’ Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and others: ‘You don’t…’

Rajkummar Rao stepped out earlier today (September 12th, 2024) for the trailer launch of his upcoming film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. It was during the event that the Shahid actor addressed that the real reason why he doesn’t even think of comparing himself is that one ‘don’t compete with their superstars’.

Rao said, “I have learned a lot from them. They are the only ones in my dreams who have watched these films. They are our superstars. And you don’t compete with your superstars. You give them love. I am also a fan of theirs.”

Further making mentions of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar said, “We have learned from them. They will always be my superstars. I will always look up to them.” During the same event, Rao also spoke about the success of his recently released Stree 2 and said that the reception was overwhelming for him.

Asked whether things have changed after Stree 2’s success, the actor replied, “The only thing that has changed is that people have loved the movie. The love that people have given me on social media, personal life, messages, and calls.” Rajkummar said that he has been feeling emotionally vulnerable lately because his fans are considering his success as a personal victory.

“Many people told me that it feels like we won, it’s not only your win. Many people had kept themselves strong from my journey. That you won, it feels like we won, you give us hope. Which I think was overwhelming for me. There is no other change, I am still the same,” Rajkummar Rao said revealing that he quickly jumped to shooting another project three days after Stree 2’s release.

The 40-year-old added that the fact that he loves his craft, nothing else matters. Even if his film earns 500 or 5000, it’s the movie’s fate but what he feels necessary as an actor is to work with honesty. “What I have been doing since the first film, that is what I have been doing,” Rao added.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is co-written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and will hit the theatres on October 11, 2024.

Malaika Arora’s Father’s Post-Mortem Report Reveals Death Due To Fractures

Bollywood actress Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Kuldip Mehta, died by suicide on Wednesday, police said. According to sources, the post-mortem report has revealed that Mr Mehta died from multiple fractures sustained during a fatal fall from his residence’s sixth-floor balcony.

According to Mumbai Police, the incident occurred around 9 am on Wednesday morning at “Ayesha Manor” in the upscale Almeida Park area of Bandra. Mr Mehta, 65, allegedly jumped from the building’s balcony, which resulted in severe fractures to his right leg and other parts of his body. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Mr Mehta was declared dead upon arrival.

Before taking the drastic step, Mr Mehta had made a final phone call to his daughters, Malaika and Amrita Arora. During this call, he reportedly told them, “I am sick and tired,” before abruptly hanging up and switching off his phone.

In a joint family statement released later that day, Malaika Arora, her mother Joyce Polycarp, and her sister Amrita expressed their deep shock and grief. The family described Mr Mehta as “a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, and a loving husband,” asking for privacy during their time of mourning.

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

“Police will investigate the incident from all angles and take forward the legal process. Whatever standard operating procedure (SOP) is followed in investigations, we are doing that,” he said.

The authorities have already taken statements from the immediate family and residents of the building. A forensic team has examined the scene, including video recordings of the premises and a review of CCTV footage.

The police also plan to record statements from Mr Mehta’s doctor and any other relevant individuals to gather more insights into his mental and physical condition before the incident.

Big Relief For Mumbaikars, New Bridge To Shorten Marine Drive-Bandra Travel

Mumbaikars’ traffic pains are set to lessen, thanks to a bow-string bridge connecting the Coastal Road directly to Bandra-Worli Sea Link. With this bridge, travel time from Marine Drive to Bandra is expected to reduce from 45-60 minutes to 15-20 minutes. It is now possible to travel from South Bombay to the airport in about half an hour — a journey that easily took more than an hour earlier.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inspected the new connector today before it is opened to regular traffic tomorrow.

Vehicles heading from south Mumbai to Bandra can now directly enter the sea link between 7 am and 11 pm. The southbound vehicles, however, will have to continue using the regular route till both arms of the Coastal Road are connected to the sea link.

This is the fourth opening on the Coastal Road, an ambitious project with a budget of over Rs 14,000 crore. The road, which is becoming operational in phases, is aimed at declogging the Maximum City’s roads and improving the commuter experience.

The southbound arm of Coastal Road opened from Worli to Marine Drive on March 11. The northbound am opened from Marine Drive till Haji Ali on June 10. Then, on July 11, the stretch from Haji Ali to Worli became operational. And the one opening tomorrow is the fourth stretch.

Addressing the media at the opening of the connector, Chief Minister Shinde said technology from abroad has been used to develop the Coastal Road. “We have a plan to take the Coastal Road from Marine Drive to Versova,” he said, adding that objections by some local residents during the construction have also been addressed.
