A 30-year-old man allegedly killed his lover in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, chopped up her body, put her head in a bag, and threw it in a canal, a police official said on Tuesday.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and three others tragically died when their aircraft crashed in Baramati, Pune district, on Wednesday morning. The plane went down while attempting an emergency landing around 8:45 am. Visuals from the scene showed the wreckage engulfed in flames.

Ajit Pawar, 66, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party, died along with four others, including the aircraft’s pilots and his security personnel.
