Scientists have made a remarkable discovery from a black hole that lies more than 25,000 light-years from Earth and is four million times more massive than our Sun. Astrophysicists Gustavo Magallanes-Guijon and Sergio Mendoza of the National Autonomous University of Mexico have recorded the supermassive hole “pulsing” every 76 minutes like clockwork, as per a report in Science Alert.

The gamma-ray of the black hole named Sagittarius A* is fluctuating and is similar in periodicity in changes to the black hole’s radio and X-ray emission. The scientists therefore suggest that there could be an orbital motion of “something” moving around the black hole. 

As per the outlet, there is currently no radiation that can be detected from black holes. The shadows are so black that they are not visible to the telescopes used to examine the light that streams through the universe. However, it is to be noted that several events can occur in the severe gravitational regime outside the black hole’s event horizon. Astronomers have also detected a pattern from the region of the blackhole as light is emitted in a multitude of wavelengths and “the strength of that light varies significantly over time.”

In 2022, it was found that radio waves vary around 70 minutes. Further, a 2017 study revealed that the X-ray flares from the black hole had a periodicity of 149 minutes. That is almost twice as periodicity of the variations in radio waves and gamma rays.

In 2021, Sagittarius A* was connected to gamma radiation. Both scientists believed that the gamma-ray data may contain some mysteries. They found that every 76.32 minutes, according to the black hole “lets out a flare of gamma radiation” which was dubbed as the “most energetic wavelength range of light in the universe”.  According to the researchers, the periodicity of the radio flare and the gamma-ray flare are nearly identical. It seems unlikely that the X-ray flare’s double periodicity at 149 minutes is a coincidence, indicating that the X-ray flare’s periodicity is a harmonic of the radio and gamma-ray periodicities.

“Since the black hole itself emits no radiation, and such regular, repeated periodicity is often a sign of orbital motion, the physical mechanism is likely something orbiting the black hole,” the outlet noted. According to the 2022 study, the object in question is most likely a blob of hot gas bound together by a strong magnetic field that accelerates particles in a synchronic manner while also releasing radiation.

The orbital distance of that blob from the black hole is similar to Mercury’s around the Sun. However, it’s moving at a very fast speed, around 30 per cent the speed of light, with an orbital period of 70 to 8- minutes. According to the astrophysicists, their findings support that interpretation of the radio data, indicating that the gas blob is generating light at several wavelengths.

Amid the criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by the opposition parties for using Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir as a tool in their election campaign in the poll-bound states, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the inauguration of the Ram Mandir is a big achievement as Lord Ram Chandra represents the country’s history, heritage and is a symbol of culture.

“This is a big achievement of our life, the history of which we can never forget. I myself took part in the Ram Mandir movement in Ayodhya and went to jail. Many people did Satyagraha, there was a long struggle,” Nitin Gadkari said speaking to ANI on Tuesday.

“Lord Ram Chandra is our history, heritage and symbol of our culture. Lord Ram will be established at his birthplace. What would make Indians more happy than this?” he added.

The Union Minister said ‘Indians’ do not only include Hindus but encompass all people who believe in India’s cultural heritage and history regardless of their religion.

“I believe that Indians do not only mean Hindus. Those who believe in the cultural heritage and history of India regardless of how they worship. No matter who it is, everyone is joyous that Lord Ram’s Mandir is being reinstated after Diwali,” he said.

Ram Mandir has taken centre stage in the election campaign of the BJP. From PM Modi to Home Minister Amit Shah has accused Congress of halting the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Addressing a public rally in Guna’s Raghogarh, Amit Shah promised that the BJP would bear the cost for the darshan of Lord Ram Lalla if its government is formed in Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had accused the Congress of opposing the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in the past and said that if the Congress had wanted to build the temple, it could have built it in 1947 itself. He was speaking at an election rally at Khategaon in Madhya Pradesh.

General Secretary of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust Champat Rai on October 25 had said that the idol of Lord Ram will be installed at Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. The Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration of the Temple.

After receiving the invitation for the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, PM Modi said that he feels “blessed” and that it is his good fortune that he will be witnessing such a historic occasion.

“Today is a day full of emotions. Recently, the officials of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust came to meet me at my residence. He has invited me to come to Ayodhya on the occasion of the consecration of Ram temple,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Former Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav who is known for his political humour, left a gathering in splits with his quip in Patna on Tuesday when he took a jibe at Union Minister Nityanand Rai.

Lalu Yadav, while speaking at the Govardhan Puja ceremony organized in ISKCON temple on Tuesday, hit out at Nityanand Rai over his allegations that the RJD supremo made his wife Rabri Devi the Chief Minister of Bihar, ignoring several capable leaders in his party and asked whether Mr Rai’s wife would have held the position if not Rabri Devi.

The RJD Supremo also claimed that Rai used to approach him to join his party before going to the BJP.

“The Union Minister of State in Hajipur used to approach us to join our party. BJP had talked about making him the Chief Minister of Yadavs….He says that Lalu Yadav made Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. If Rabri Devi had not been made the Chief Minister, would I have made your wife the CM? (Agar Rabri Devi ko CM nahi banate to kya tumhari bibi ko banate). If Rabri Devi had not been there, RJD and our government would not have existed today. Nitish-Tejashwi government would not have been formed in Bihar if she had not held the CM position,” Lalu Yadav said.

Earlier in the day in Patna, Nityanand Rai took a jibe at Lalu Prasad Yadav and said that the former CM side-lined several leaders including Jangdanand Singh and Rabri Devi became the CM of Bihar.

“When Lalu Yadav went to jail, PV Narasimha was the PM. Even when CBI filed the charge sheet, Narasimha’s government was there. When you were sentenced in 2013, there was Manmohan Singh i.e. Congress government. When you went to jail, why didn’t you make other Yaduvanshis leaders the CM? You made Rabri Devi the CM,” Rai said.

“There were many capable leaders in RJD, including Jangdanand Singh, but he was not made the CM. He said that he always kept the Yadavs in the dark. It is because of Lalu Yadav that the Yadavas have the least number of jobs today Lalu Yadav only cares about his family and not about anyone else,” Rai said.

Notably, in July 1997, Lalu Yadav broke ranks with his then colleagues and top Janta Dal leaders such as Sharad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan to form his own party, the RJD, and installed his wife Rabri Devi as the new CM, just days before he was arrested in the multi-crore fodder scam case.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Mr Yadav went on to attack the BJP, accusing it of ‘breaking’ the Yadav community for its political gains.

“Wherever there is a BJP Government, Yaduvanshis are being broken. We will not let this happen. Like Lord Krishna protected the weak, our Government, and our organisation provided 75 per cent reservation – this was never thought of earlier. Besides reservation, lakhs of people were made teachers. Lakhs of more of such recruitments are going to take place, advertisements have been placed…People have been empowered. Before our government, were you allowed to cast a vote?…Forceful booth capturing used to take place…” Lalu Yadav said.
