A sudden move by the Ladakh Union Territory administration to cancel the land allotment to Sonam Wangchuk’s ambitious Himalayan Institute of Alternative Learning or HIAL has triggered a major controversy.

Kolkata police submitted a charge sheet against four individuals in the law college gang-rape case. The survivor reported the crime occurred on June 25. The charge sheet names Manojit Mishra, Pramit Mukhopadhyay, Zaib Ahmed, and Pinaki Banerjee. Accusations include gang rape, wrongful confinement, and issuing death threats. DNA evidence links Mishra to the crime.
