Filmfare was the first to inform readers that Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi was likely to be pushed to a later date. On Wednesday evening, the makers of the rustic drama officially moved its theatrical release to June. However, they have not yet locked in an exact release date. The decision confirms a postponement from its original April 30 release. Fans are now closely watching the calendar as the Tollywood summer movie season continues to shift.

Peddi filmmakers remain circumspect

A major reason for the delay appears to be the search for a strategic release window. The producers seem to be waiting for clarity on another upcoming film, Toxic. The Yash-starrer is currently slated for June 4, and the makers of Peddi are keen to avoid a major box office clash. They are hoping that an early June slot might open up if Toxic alters its schedule. Moreover, after Mana Shankara Vara Prasad, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, released in January, Tollywood has not seen a major blockbuster. Fans are therefore hoping that Summer 2026 ends on a high note, with both Peddi and Toxic delivering strong entertainment.

Special song yet to be shot

The final piece of the puzzle is a highly anticipated special song in Peddi, which remains the only portion of the Buchi Babu Sana directorial left to be shot. In South Indian cinema, such songs often serve as major marketing draws. The casting process for this number has been long and secretive, with several actresses linked to the project. Mrunal Thakur recently declined to comment on her involvement, suggesting that the team may still be searching for the perfect fit. The combination of casting delays and complex post-production work has made the April release unfeasible. By moving to June, the team gains additional time to finalize the song and refine the visual effects. They are betting that a polished product will perform better than a rushed one. For now, the wait continues.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated thriller I’m Game has officially wrapped production, bringing an end to an extensive shooting schedule that has been closely followed by fans. The images feature Dulquer alongside Nahas and key members of the crew, capturing a sense of camaraderie that has built up over the course of the shoot.

Tamil actor Kathir also joins the film, alongside Kayadu Lohar and Samyuktha Viswanathan.

Adding further intrigue is the presence of Mysskin, whose performances often carry a distinct intensity. His involvement hints at a layered antagonist or a morally complex character, something that aligns well with the film’s thriller ambitions.
