KATSEYE Break Silence on Manons Hiatus: We Have Gone Through So Much…

KATSEYE recently enthralled the world with their new track Pinky Up and Coachella debut. The group has been keeping busy, despite the recent announcement of one of their members going on hiatus. KATSEYE, originally comprising Sophia, Manon, Lara, Megan, Daniela and Yoonchae are now promoting as a 5-member group, with Manon on hiatus.

The news of her hiatus broke on February 20. The statements were posted on KATSEYE’s social media accounts. Her agency noted, “After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing. We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

Manon also issued her own statement on Weverse. She said, “Hi friends. [white heart emoticon] I want you to hear this from me, I’m healthy, I’m okay, and I’m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture. Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.”

Now, while fans were waiting for the group to address the situation, Sophia spoke about it at an interview with Apple Music. She said, “Manon has been on hiatus. We love her so much. We know that she is doing well. She got to talk to the fans about it. We are really excited. We are rooting for all of us. We are rooting for each other. We have gone through so much with each other. At the end of the day, we all want each other to win. We want to be good, feel good and be happy. We want to keep showing up.” Lara added, “She is our sister forever. We love her so much. We have built this together, so we want to give her all the space.”

This isn’t the first time the group has addressed the situation of a hiatus. Previously, during an interview with Billboard in 2025, Sophia said, “Despite having some interviews or performances with a missing member, what’s important is that at the end of the day, we’re still going to be six as KATSEYE.”
