Katrina Kaif opened up about her early years in the film industry. In an interview, she disclosed that she was initially cast as the fourth girl in Bachna Ae Haseeno but her role was later removed from the script.
Bachna Ae Haseeno follows Ranbir’s character as he falls in love with different women at various stages of his life. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, and Minissha Lamba, with Deepika’s character being the main love interest. In an interview with a leading news portal, Katrina revealed that she was originally supposed to play the fourth girl in the movie, but her role was ultimately cut.
During the production of Bachna Ae Haseeno, Katrina was at the beginning of her career, having already starred in movies such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Partner, and her breakthrough film Namastey London. She revealed that she faced criticism from many who told her directly that she would never succeed in the film industry. “I have so many memories of people telling me to my face that you will not make it, you cannot succeed,” she reminisced.
She also mentioned her desire to portray the role of Anushka Sharma in Anand L. Rai’s Zero, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. In the end, Katrina ended up playing the character of a famous actress named Babita, who has a close relationship with Shah Rukh’s character Bauua Singh.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Katrina was last seen in Merry Christmas alongside Vijay Sethupathi.
