Congress leader Jaya Thakur has moved SC to restrain Centre from appointing new election commissioners ahead of Lok Sabha Elections. The Election Commission of India faces vacancies after the retirement of Anup Chandra Pandey and the surprise exit of Arun Goel. After the resignation of Arun Goel, only Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar was left in the 3-member poll panel.

The state health minister said, “Rhodamine-B, Tartrazine and other such chemicals are being used for preparing such food items and it is unsafe”
