James Cameron reveals title for Avatarâs next part

James Cameron has announced the title for the third film in the Avatar franchise: Avatar: Fire and Ash. The reveal came at the D23 Expo in California, with Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington present. The film is set to release on December 19, 2025.
At the expo, Cameron showcased concept art, including an image of Neytiri (Saldaña) dancing over flames and riding banshees. “You’ll see a lot more of Pandora that you never saw before,” Cameron teased. “It’s an insane adventure with high emotional stakes.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash will follow the events of 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, introducing the Ash People, a new Na’vi clan. Oona Chaplin will star as Varang, their leader, with David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh joining the cast. Returning actors include Worthington, Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, and more.

Avatar and The Way of Water are among the top five highest-grossing films ever, with the original film leading at USD 2.9 billion.

John Abraham reveals his first salary was Rs 6500

John Abraham is currently making headlines for his upcoming film Vedaa. Ahead of the film’s release, the actor opened up about his financial struggles. Appearing on a podcast, he revealed that his first salary after his MBA was Rs 6,500.

John Abraham shared that he worked at an advertising agency with a starting salary of Rs 6,500. He also recalled spending only Rs 6.25 on lunch which included two chapatis and a dal fry.

He recalled the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999 which was judged by Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar and more. He won a Rs 40,000 cash prize. John also shared that he would save money and invest in mutual funds during the initial days of his acting career. 

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Vedaa features John Abraham alongside Sharvari. The film is set to release on August 15, 2024.

Pokémon star Rachael Lillis voice of Misty and Jessie passes away at 46

Beloved voice actor Rachael Lillis, best known for voicing Misty and Jessie in the animated Pokémon series, has passed away. She died on August 10 after battling breast cancer. She was 46.

The tragic news was shared by Rachael Lillis’ Pokémon co-star Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash Ketchum. She took to X to announce Lillis’s death and pay a heartfelt tribute to her. She wrote, “It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Rachael Lillis on Saturday evening, 10 August 2024.”

She further wrote, “Rachael was an extraordinary talent, a bright light that shone through her voice whether speaking or singing. She will be forever remembered for the many animated roles she played, with her iconic performances as Pokémon’s Misty and Jessie being the most beloved.”

“Rachael was so thankful for all the generous love and support that was given to her as she battled cancer. It truly made a positive difference. Her family also wishes to thank you as they take this time to grieve privately. A memorial is being planned for a future date. With love, Veronica,” she concluded. 

Lillis’ portrayal of fan-favourite character Misty Jessie from the villain trio, Team Rocket, made her a pivotal part of the Pokémon universe since the anime series’ debut in 1998.

In addition to lending her voice to Pokémon, Lillis also worked on several video games including the Super Smash Bros. series.
