Daisy Edgar-Jones Opens Up About Onscreen Chemistry With Jacob Elordi, Calls Her On Swift Horses Co-Star ‘Charismatic’

Daisy Edgar-Jones recently discussed how she quickly bonded with her co-star Jacob Elordi, from the upcoming movie On Swift Horses. The actress had recently participated in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and shared what she appreciates about Elordi.

While talking about their movie, which premiered at the highly acclaimed festival, Edgar-Jones stated, “It’s not hard to make chemistry with Jacob,” while also calling him “charismatic.”

The 26-year-old actress then went on to add that filming the scenes where Elordi and her character showed a relationship between them and also had some dynamics developed intelligently.

She then called her experience of going through the scripts as reading some poems and appreciated all that takes place in the story.

While also admiring the work of director Daniel Minahan, the Where the Crawdads Sing actress added, “the way he allowed space for us to get to know each other and to play, and all of Jacob and I’s early scenes in the film, we shot first, which was great.”

Meanwhile, the He Went That Way actor also opened up, stating that he loved his cowboy character, adding that the chemistry between him and Daisy Edgar-Jones had sparked immediately.

When asked about his audition for the film, Elordi recalled it as more like a workshop, where he, Daisy, and the director had great fun together.

On Swift Horses is a movie based on the 2019 book of the same name penned by Shannon Pufahl.

As per the plot of the movie, it talks about a newlywed couple, involving Muriel who is played by Edgar-jone, and Lee who is portrayed by Will Poulter, beginning a new life, after Lee has returned from the Korean War.

In the meantime enters Elordi’s character who is the younger brother of Lee, Julius. Soon a disheartening love triangle forms, when the three plan to shift to California, however, Julius disappears and moves to Las Vegas.

Besides having three great actors, the film also stars Sasha Calle, along with Kat Cunning, as well as Diego Calva. While the movie had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2024, it is currently looking for distributors.

Jeethu Joseph’s Nunakkhuzhi Onam OTT release: When and where to watch Basil Joseph and Grace Antony starrer comedy flick

Basil Joseph and Grace Antony starrer Nunakkhuzhi is set to make its way to the online platforms after releasing in theaters on August 15, 2024. Now, the film will be available on ZEE5 from September 13, 2024, coinciding with Onam festival this year.

The movie is directed by Drishyam fame Jeethu Joseph and is touted to be a complete comedic ride that is filled with chaotic elements. The official announcement of the film’s release on OTT was made via a post by ZEE5 Keralam. Moreover, the Malayalam language film would also be available for streaming in Telugu and Kannada as well.

The movie Nunakkhuzhi follows the tale of Eby Zachariah Poozhikunnel, a young man who is trying to recover a laptop he lost which contains some compromising content from the hands of an income tax officer. In his chaotic ride of trying to recover it, he crosses paths with Rashmita Ranjith who has her own messy reasons.

Now, both of them are to get the laptop from the hands of the officer before it’s too late and everything slips out of their hands. Talking in detail about the film, Basil said, “I’ve always strived to portray characters that resonate with young Malayalees, often a little clueless, sometimes reckless, but always relatable. In this film, Eby’s situations lead him to make some outrageous choices and tell humorous lies, showcasing how ordinary people can find themselves in extraordinary situations.”

Aside from Basil and Grace, the movie also has an ensemble cast of actors like Nikhila Vimal, Siddique, Manoj K. Jayan, Althaf Salim, Binu Pappu, Baiju Santhosh, Azees Nedumangad, Aju Varghese, and many more in key roles. The movie which had received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics on release had become a commercially successful film in theaters.

Coming to Basil Joseph’s work front, the Minnal Murali director was last seen playing a cameo role in the Malayalam movie Vaazha – Biopic of a Billion Boys. The actor would next feature in Tovino Thomas’ much-awaited movie Ajayante Randam Moshanam.

The actor-director is also playing lead roles in movies like Cup and Sookshmadarshini, the latter alongside Nazriya Nazim Fahadh.

Wait A Few Days: Mamata Banerjee On Calls For Kolkata Police Chief’s Dismissal

The fresh focus on the role of police following today’s hearing of the Kolkata hospital rape-murder case in Supreme Court has escalated the BJP demand for the dismissal of the city’s police chief Vineet Goyal. Chief Minster Mamata Banerjee has played for time. The police chief, she said, cannot step down immediately in view of the coming Durga Puja, which calls for special stress on law and order.

“Kolkata Police Commissioner has come to me several times last week and offered to resign,” Ms Banerjee said. “We have pujo coming up. Someone who is aware of law and order has to be there. If you have patience for a few days, will it be a Mahabharat (big deal)?” she added.

Following the arrest of Sandip Ghose, the former Principal of RG Kar Medical College, the next big demand of the protesters has been the resignation of the police chief. The Opposition parties have thrown their weight behind it.

The role of the police in the investigation of the young doctor’s rape-murder has raised multiple questions. The woman’s parents have claimed they cremated their daughter’s body under pressure from the police and alleged that a police officer had offered them money to bury the incident.

There have been complaints about videography and questions why the body’s postmortem was done at RG Kar hospital, which created a conflict of interest of sorts.

The 14-hour delay in filing of the First Information Report has been flagged multiple times, including by the judges of the Supreme Court.

Today, the top court said a key document connected to the postmortem appeared to be missing.

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud questioned where a certain challan was, that showed what articles of clothing and personal use was submitted for forensic examination. Without that challan, a postmortem cannot be carried out either, he said.

“See the third column on the top, the constable (who brought the body) is supposed to carry this (form). It has been struck off. So there is no reference of this challan when the dead body is sent for examination. You need to explain. If this document is missing, then something is amiss,” said Justice JB Pardiwala, who was part of the three-judge bench.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who was representing the state, could not immediately locate it and has sought more time.

The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has said “who collected the samples” for forensics has emerged as a crucial question.
