The Axiom-4 mission, carrying Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and three international crewmates, successfully launched to the International Space Station after delays. Shukla, as pilot, marks a significant step for India in space exploration. The crew will conduct over 60 science experiments during their two-week stay, contributing to research in various fields before returning to Earth.

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla delivered an emotional message from space shortly after the Axiom Mission 4 launch, marking India’s return to human spaceflight after 41 years. Orbiting Earth at 7.5 km per second, Shukla carries the Indian flag, emphasizing the mission’s significance as the beginning of India’s human space program.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh praised Shubhanshu Shukla for becoming the first Indian astronaut to embark on a mission to the International Space Station with the Axiom-4 launch.
