An FIR has been lodged against Union minister Sukanta Majumdar at a police station in Kolkata alleging he threw a slipper at a Sikh man which hit his turban, the ruling Trinamool Congress claimed on Sunday.

Israel has confirmed conducting an airstrike on Mashhad airport in Iran, targeting a military refuelling aircraft in what it claims was its longest-range strike. Iranian media reported explosions and fires in Mashhad, activating air defenses. The Israeli Chief of Staff stated the Air Force is attacking Iran’s infrastructure extensively, aiming to remove an existential threat.
