IPL 2024 Auction Updates: We are just minutes away from the start of the IPL 2024 auction! The 10 franchises have over Rs 262 crore to spend to 77 players from a pool of 332 players. The Indian Premier League 2024 auction will have several big names like Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Shardul Thakur among others. Starc has been predicted to breach the all-time record of highest bid of Rs 18.50 crore. Gujarat Titans (GT) has the highest purse remaining – Rs 38.15 crore. The other teams and their remaining purse are: Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 34 crore), Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 32.7 crore), Chennai Super Kings (Rs 31.4 crore), Punjab Kings (Rs 29.1 crore), Delhi Capitals (Rs 28.95 crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 23.25 crore), Mumbai Indians (Rs 17.75 crore), Rajasthan Royals (Rs 14.5 crore), and Lucknow Super Giants (Rs 13.15 crore).

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction have created history. Australia skipper became the costliest buy in the history of IPL as he got sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad at a whopping total of Rs 20.50 crore. Apart from him, New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been sold to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore. India pacer Harshal Patel has been sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 11.75 crore and they have also acquired the services of Chris Woakes for Rs 4.2 crore. New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra and India all-rounder Shardul Thakur have been bought by Chennai Super Kings.

Veteran actress Tanuja, recognised for her roles in iconic films like Jewel Thief and Haathi Mere Saathi, was reportedly discharged from a Juhu hospital on Monday night after being admitted to the ICU due to age-related complications. 

The 80-year-old, a prominent figure in the 1960s and 1970s Hindi and Bengali cinema, boasts a filmography that includes Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi, Mere Jeevan Sathi, Jeene Ki Raah, Deya Neya, Teen Bhubaner Pare, and Prothom Kadam Phool. Tanuja’s acting journey began as a child artiste in the 1950 film Hamari Beti, marking the debut of her elder sister Nutan, under the direction of their mother, the esteemed actress Shobhna Samarth.

Apart from her film career, Tanuja has graced television screens with appearances in shows like Aarambh and Junoon. Notably, she is the mother of renowned actors Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji. Her most recent appearance was in the 2022 anthology Modern Love: Mumbai on OTT. Tanuja’s contributions to the cinematic world and her enduring legacy in both Hindi and Bengali cinema continue to be celebrated and admired by audiences.
