Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed regret for the collapse of the Shivaji Maharaj statue in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. The statue, unveiled by PM Modi nine months ago, fell due to strong winds. CM Eknath Shinde called the incident unfortunate and promised to reinstall the statue. The opposition criticized the government’s quality control.

Union minister Chirag Paswan refuted rumors of disagreements with BJP, affirming his allegiance to PM Modi and readiness to contest Bihar elections under NDA. In an interview with news agency PTI, Pawan said: “My love for Narendra Modi is unshakeable. I am inseparable from him, for as long as he is Prime Minister.”

Eastern Railways will introduce trains from Howrah to Darjeeling on October 9, 16 and 30 (a day before Kali Puja and Dilwai) and on November 6 (a day before Chhath Puja).
