Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday expressed grief over the Pahalgam terror attack and said that terrorism is a “global menace”.

Following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, halting data sharing and potentially allowing for increased water usage from the western rivers. This action marks a significant escalation in tensions, threatening Pakistan’s water supply and agriculture, though immediate impact is unlikely due to infrastructure limitations.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken decisive actions, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and downgrading diplomatic ties with Pakistan. Visas for Pakistani nationals are suspended, and the Attari border crossing is closed. The Indian Navy conducted missile tests, and the Air Force launched a major drill.
