The grand ceremony for the 70th National Film Awards 2024 was held today at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Top honours went to Rishab Shetty who won the Best Actor award for his acclaimed work in Kantara. Nitya Menen won the Best Actress award for her role in Tiruchitambalam, an honour she shares with Manasi Parekh who bagged the win in the same category for her role in Kutch Express.

Meanwhile, director Sooraj Barjatya won the Best Director award for his film Uunchai. Veteran star Mithun Chakraborty received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
