Aayush Sharma Birthday: When Salman Khan helped Antim actor clear his parents’ doubts over marriage with Arpita Khan Sharma

Aayush Sharma is a popular figure in the entertainment industry, not because he married Salman Khan’s sister Arpita but because of his acting projects like Loveyatri, Ruslaan, and more. Today, October 26, he turned 34. On his birthday, we revisited the time when he shared how he ended up convincing the Khans and his family to marry his now-wife.

While talking to Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya on their YouTube channel Bharti TV, Aayush Sharma went back in time and recalled how he ended up meeting Salman Khan at his Mumbai residence at 1:30 in the night. The birthday boy stated he went to his now wife, then-girlfriend Arpita Khan Sharma’s home on her insistence for dinner. But suddenly, her brother Salman arrived. Confused upon seeing each other suddenly, Khan and Aayush introduced themselves. The next morning, the Tiger 3 actor inquired about their mom, Salma Khan, about Aayush and Arpita, and she spilled everything she knew about their relationship.

Soon after, the Antim actor was called to meet the head of the family, Salim Khan, who was quick to give his blessings to the couple. After doing his research about his sister’s boyfriend the bhaijaan of Bollywood took Aayush for a walk and asked him some tough questions. When the Loveyatri actor expressed his desire to marry Arpita, the Dabangg actor exclaimed, ‘Are you too young to get married?’ During their chat, Aayush clearly stated that at that point, he didn’t have any fixed source of income, and whatever he had belonged to his political father. All said and done, Khan was convinced about him and gave his nod by stating that he was a good man. It’s noteworthy that even though the Khans were ok with their marriage, the Sharmas didn’t have any clue.

After convincing Arpita’s family, Aayush called his parents to Mumbai from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. At the dinner table, both Aayush and Arpita told them about their intentions to get married. Upon hearing about their plans, his parents, Anil and Sunita Sharma, were flabbergasted. When they returned home, the young actor’s father told him “Kaam tu kuch karta nahi hai, paise tu kama nai raha, upar se shaadi kar raha hai woh bhi aise ladki se jiske paas itna paisa hai. Uske kharche kaise uthayega?” (You don’t do any work, you’re not earning money, and on top of that, you’re getting married, and that too to a girl who has so much money. How will you manage her expenses?)”

Aayush was quick to state, “Main nai uthaunga, aap uthaoge na? (You will finance this right?)” Then came his politician dad’s reaction, “Shaadi tune kiya, pyaar tune kiya, bill mai bharu?” (You will get married; you fell in love and I should pay the bill?)” After throwing some fits at their son, the Sharmas also said ‘Yes’. When both the families met and Aayush’s dad asked if Arpita would be moving to their hometown Mandi if need be, Salman Khan promised, “Wherever Aayush decides to go, Arpita will follow him. You don’t worry about it.”

That sealed the deal, and Arpita and Aayush got married in 2014 when he was just 24 years old. Today, the couple has two kids: a son they named Ahil Sharma and a daughter called Ayat Sharma. Meanwhile, on the work front, the birthday boy is busy filming for his next project, Kwatha.

Happy Birthday Asin: When Ready actress revealed she never ‘desired’ Salman Khan: ‘Never thought of resisting him’

Asin, the beloved actress behind many memorable roles, celebrates her birthday today! As we remember her iconic performances, let’s revisit her candid take on admiring but not ‘desiring’ her Ready co-star, Salman Khan. She described him as very attractive but clarified that her admiration is not based on desire; she respects him in a different light. The actress added, “I really never thought of resisting him.”

On Simi Garewal’s show India’s Most Desirable, Asin once shared insights into her connection with superstar Salman Khan. She described him as someone she admired deeply and held in high regard but not in a romantic way. Although she acknowledged his undeniable charm, her bond with the Sikandar actor was based on mutual respect, never crossing into attraction.

“I never saw him in that light. For me he was somebody who I looked up to in a very respectful way, somebody that I admired. He is very attractive but that’s not the way I saw or looked up to him. That never really crossed my mind of desiring him,” said Asin.

Reflecting on their dynamic, Asin emphasized that admiration was the foundation of her view of him—resisting him was never even a thought! Asin also recalled a memorable on-set prank during the filming of Ready, where Salman challenged her to eat a bug he’d found with the crew in Bangkok.

Not one to back down, Asin surprised everyone by accepting the dare and calmly swallowing the bug instead of reacting as the actor expected. Rather than the dramatic response he anticipated, her nonchalant reaction left Salman Khan amused and taken aback, proving she wasn’t one to be easily fazed.

On her daughter Arin’s sixth birthday, Asin shared adorable snapshots from the princess-themed celebration. Alongside the pictures, the Bol Bachchan actress wrote, “Our little princess turned 6..not so little anymore!”

She lovingly described her little girl as having “Rapunzel-like hair, Belle-level love for books, Cinderella’s dance party spirit, and the fierce determination of Merida and Jasmine.”

The actress thanked Arin for bringing magic to their lives and wished that all her dreams come true, signing off with heartfelt hashtags like #HappyBirthdayPrincessArin. “Uniquely, Unmistakably ARIN, thank you for making our lives magical! May all your dreams come true,” she wrote.

Pinkvilla sends warm wishes to Asin for a joyful birthday and a wonderful year ahead!

NDTV Exclusive: 1st Images Of Chinese Troops’ Disengagement In Ladakh

Days after India announced that a patrolling arrangement had been reached with China, NDTV has accessed the first satellite images of disengagement taking place on the ground in Depsang and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh.

The agreement was announced on Monday and a satellite image from the Depsang plains taken on October 11 shows four vehicles and two tents.

Another image taken on Friday shows that the tents have been removed and the vehicles are moving away. The land on which the tents stood has also been restored.

The high-resolution images have been provided by Maxar.

The images from Depsang are from near the ‘Y Junction’ from where Indian soldiers were prevented from travelling east to India’s patrolling points. The patrolling points, or PPs, mark the extent of the Line of Actual Control that India claims in these areas.

In a similar satellite image from Demchok from October 9, semi-permanent Chinese structures can be seen.

The same structures are missing in an image from the disputed site on Friday.

Army sources had said earlier in the day that the process of disengagement would be completed in the two contentious areas by Tuesday, October 29,  and the troops would return to the positions that existed before the stand-off between the two countries began in 2020. The process includes the dismantling of structures and restoring the land on which they stood to their original condition.

Sources said both India and China will continue to have surveillance options in Depsang and Demchok, and troops will inform the other side before stepping out on patrol “to avoid any miscommunication”.

The stand-off began in May 2020 and a clash took place in Ladakh’s Galwan the next month in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed in action and the Chinese side also suffered losses, with the exact number remaining unconfirmed.

A troop buildup followed on both sides and military-level talks began taking place to resolve the stand-off. In September 2022, Indian and Chinese troops withdrew from the contentious Gogra-Hot Springs area in Ladakh and returned to the pre-April-2020 position.

‘Peace And Stability’

After the announcement by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Monday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed it at the NDTV World Summit.

“We reached an agreement on patrolling, and we have gone back to the 2020 position. With that, we can say the disengagement with China has been completed. Details will come out in due course,” Mr Jaishankar said.

“There are areas which, for various reasons after 2020, they blocked us, we blocked them. We have now reached an understanding which will allow patrolling as we had been doing till 2020,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi then met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Russia – their first bilateral since 2019 – on Wednesday and they welcomed the agreement. “It should be our priority to ensure there is peace and stability along our border,” PM Modi told Mr Jinping.
