The Supreme Court has stayed the Allahabad High Court’s order that ruled ‘grabbing breast and breaking pyjama string’ as inadequate to charge for rape or attempt to rape. The bench noted the insensitivity of the High Court’s handling. The case involved two men assaulting a minor girl.

To facilitate easier input sharing, agencies will have a dedicated space to access state-specific smuggling-related intelligence, which will be shared with selected financial and other intelligence agencies

The Supreme Court condemned the Allahabad High Court ruling that grabbing the breast and pulling a pyjama string do not constitute rape. Justice BR Gavai called the ruling “totally insensitive.”
