The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned to January 8 the hearing of a plea filed by Gitanjali J Angmo, the wife of jailed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, against his detention under the National Security Act.

External affairs minister S Jaishankar criticised western nations for offering unsolicited advice urging them to “look at their own region for levels of violence”. India’s telecom sector is rolling out Calling Name Presentation (CNAP), a new feature displaying registered caller names on incoming calls. This initiative, driven by DOT and TRAI, aims to combat rising spam and fraud by enhancing caller identification. The nationwide rollout for 4G and 5G networks is expected by March 31, 2026.
