Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has started moving its elected representatives in Mumbai to a five-star hotel, a day after it emerged as the kingmaker in theBrihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday said if God is willing, the party could have its mayor in Mumbai, remarks coming a day after the BJP-Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena combine won the civic elections in the financial capital.

New notice boards citing a century-old bylaw restricting non-Hindus at Har-ki-Pauri have been installed by the Ganga Sabha. The body aims to enforce rules framed in 1916, stating only those connected to Sanatan Dharma should enter the holy site. While the Ganga Sabha seeks wider implementation, district officials emphasize that enforcement depends on civic authorities and adherence to the law.
