Olivia Rodrigo Reveals Repeating THIS Hilarious Phrase Before Each Guts Tour Show

Former Disney star, Olivia Rodrigo is now a Grammy-winning pop star, however, a small part of her always believes in a superstition. The Traitor singer talked about the unusual pre-show ritual that she habitually practiced before every stop of her massive worldwide tour. Her new Netflix concert special Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour directed by James Merryman released on October 29.

Rodrigo’s ritual includes a saying from a British in-ear tech monitor, Seamus. He had a habit of every time before the show saying that it was going to be easy, and Olivia made it a point to repeat the words that seemed to invite a bit of luck.

Rodrigo told People, “Before every show he says, ‘It’s gonna be a piece of piss,’ which is British for, it’s gonna be easy peasy. And so before every show, I make sure that I say, ‘Seamus, it’s gonna be a piece of piss.’”

In the odds of a scenario where he did not say the British saying, the Vampire singer, 21, assumed bad luck would follow. She said it would probably result in a performance not meeting expectations, which made her anxious. She added, “If he doesn’t say that, I’m convinced it’s going to be a bad show. I’m very superstitious.”

Considering the odds, her GUTS tour did manage to be quite extraordinary, which began in February in Palm Springs, California, and took her around North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, concluding with an August performance filmed in the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles that was part of the Netflix concert special.

Rodrigo mentioned to the outlet that the primary reason behind filming the special was to ” create an experience for people to relive the show,” which she’s incredibly proud of. Following the successful completion of the GUTS tour, the time has come for the Bad Idea Right? hitmaker to unwind as well.

She, however, regards songwriting as a form of self-care, so even while resting she would be composing melodies. Concerning her latest chapter, she told the outlet that she is pleased with herself and that she delivered on everything she set out to achieve, which was to record an album, tour, and interact with her fanbase.

As of now, Rodrigo has set out to take a break but hopes that new prospects await her soon. Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour is available on Netflix for streaming.

“Glorification Of Crime”: High Court Slams Punjab For Bishnoi Jail Interview

Mafia boss Lawrence Bishnoi’s interview in September 2022 – to a private channel while, supposedly, incarcerated in jail – was red-flagged, again, by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday.

The court today reprimanded the Punjab government for failing to follow its August 2024 order, which directed disciplinary action against senior officers who facilitated Bishnoi’s interview.

The court had also warned the ruling AAP against making “scapegoats” of junior officers.

Expressing concern over a possible criminal conspiracy between Punjab cops – seven were finally suspended last week – and the gangster Bishnoi, the court also ordered a fresh investigation, to be conducted by a three-member team led by Human Rights Commission chief Prabodh Kumar.

The interview, the court said, was “an apparent jail security breach” and the extended time taken for the cops to submit “an inconclusive report” – over eight months – was also flagged.

A bench of Justice Anupinder Singh and Lapita Banerji pointed out five of the seven suspended officers were of a junior rank – only two officers of Deputy Superintendent-rank, Gursheer Singh and Sammer Vaneet were penalised, and noted the cops “allowed the criminal to use electronic device(s) and provided a studio-like facility for the interview, which tends to glorify crime…”

Involvement of senior cops suggests “illegal gratification from the criminal…” the court said.

The court was also irked by copies of the interview resurfacing online despite a December order that it be removed from all social media platforms.

“These interviews are stated to have garnered over 12 million views. It would have an adverse impact upon youngsters with impressionable minds. Punjab is a border state and any deterioration in law and order or increase in crime could affect national security,” the court said.

Copies of the interview resurfaced online after the October 13 murder of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddiqui, who was a member of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction.

The court noted that in the interview Bishnoi – “involved in 71 cases in the State of Punjab and convicted in four cases, which includes offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (which is the anti-terror law)” – was “justifying target killings and his criminal activities”.

“He has reiterated and justified (his) threat to a film actor,” the court noted, referring to death threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan that have made headlines over the past months.

Gym Trainer Who Murdered Businessman’s Wife Was Inspired By ‘Drishyam’

The gym trainer who allegedly murdered a businessman’s wife about four months ago in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur was inspired by the Bollywood movie ‘Drishyam’. Ekta Gupta’s body was found buried near a bungalow occupied by a top government official – matching the storyline of the Ajay Devgn-starrer.

She went missing on June 24, her husband Rahul Gupta had alleged, accusing gym trainer Vimal Soni of running away with his wife after giving her intoxicants along with proteins.

The trainer allegedly confessed to the murder during his questioning and told the cops he had buried the body in an area comprising bungalows allotted to government officials.

He told them that he had watched ‘Drishyam’ multiple times, which helped him land the idea of burying her body in a posh area. In the 2015 movie, the protagonist buried the murder victim’s body under a police station.

A CCTV footage has emerged from the day of the incident, showing Ekta Gupta walking inside the gym in a red t-shirt and black pants. The two had an affair and she was upset that he was getting married, according to the police.

On the day she was killed, Ekta had come to the gym after 20 days and the two had an argument in a car. During this, Vimal Soni had allegedly punched her and then murdered her. A hair clip and her other items were found in the car.

Her body was recovered from a house about a kilometre from the gym where Vimal Soni worked. A part of the bungalow is occupied by the District Magistrate and his family, sources told NDTV. It has a camp office and a security post located next to it.
