Yet another edition of The Real Housewives franchise has landed and fans cannot wait for even more drama, scandals, arguments, and some quality content. The Real Housewives of Potomac has returned with its 8th season and it promises changes in cast dynamics, cheating allegations, new relationships, confrontations, and interventions along with the fun.

The Real Housewives of Potomac 8 premiered on November 5, 2023, on Bravo. The installment features Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton, and Nneka Ihim as cast members. Here’s a recap of what happened in the first episode of the season titled Projections and Deflections.

Robyn Dixon’s husband troubles

Robyn’s husband Juan is always surrounded by controversies and cheating allegations. From getting cozy with his co-worker in a laundromat to being spotted with another woman in a nail salon; there’s not much he hasn’t been accused of. To top it all off, he was also fired from his coaching job. Meanwhile, her best friend Gizelle revealed that she was annoyed by Juan and his behavior, despite trying to be as patient with him as possible for Robyn’s sake.

Gizelle is not pleased with how he keeps humiliating her repeatedly and without any shame. She stated that she is also not happy with how delusional Robyn becomes when it comes to Juan and his adulterous behavior. Tired of it all, Gizelle put together a meeting to confront her best friend about the mess she has created in her personal life by letting Juan’s cheating slide time and again. Candiace, Karen, and Wendy also had their own thoughts about him.

Ashley Darby’s $2.2 million abode

Ashley moved into her $2.2 million house named Seaside in the City with her family. She separated from her husband Michael Darby in April this year after eight years of marriage. He doesn’t have a room in this house and has only been around a few times. Meanwhile, she revealed that Michael is on the mortgage with her. Ashely added that she doesn’t want to want to be with Michael but also doesn’t want to lose the lifestyle she created for herself.

Mia Thornton’s financial issues and Gizelle Bryant’s intervention

Mia and her husband Gordon Thornton have been dealing with financial troubles after being ousted from their chiropractic business. They used to live in a luxurious mansion but are now residing in a 1,500-square-foot apartment. They are now separated and it seems monetary issues were the reason behind it. Meanwhile, Gizelle’s confrontation with Robyn included Ashely and Charrisse. When Robyn reached Gizelle’s house, she was left surprised.

She didn’t realize the reason behind the meetup was discussing Juan. All three of them asked Robyn why she was letting her husband behave this way and why she was okay with his cheating. Considering they’ve been cheated on in the past, they know exactly how it feels. Robyn claimed everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about. She believed what Juan said no matter how far from the truth. A new episode airs every Sunday on Bravo.

Friends: Matthew Perry saved the story of Chandler and Monica by getting THIS scene edited

Late actor Matthew Perry once made a big decision about the story in the Friends show. In one episode from season 5 called The One in Vegas: Part 1, where Chandler and Monica had an argument, Chandler was written to cheat on Monica in the script.

But in the episode, after an argument, Monica (played by Courteney Cox) went to have lunch with her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Richard Burke. In the original script, Chandler got upset and ordered room service. He talked with a hotel worker, played by Lisa Cash, and ended up cheating on Monica. But just before they were going to film it in front of a live audience, Matthew Perry, who played Chandler, talked to the show’s writers.

He said that the audience wouldn’t like it if his character cheated on Monica. So, they changed the story. Lisa Cash revealed to TMZ on November 6 that, “We had rehearsed it and everything, and then the day before we were shooting in front of a live audience, I was told that [Matthew] went to the writers and said the audience would never forgive him for cheating on Monica,” she added, “He was probably right. That would’ve changed possibly the course of the show and his character.”

At the end of the show, Monica and Chandler got married and adopted twins. They were planning to move to the suburbs. Marta Kauffman, one of the show’s creators, said she thinks Monica and Chandler are still together and doing well.

Even though Lisa Cash didn’t become a major part of Monica and Chandler’s relationship, she did get a role as a flight attendant in a scene with Ross and Rachel. She had a good experience working with Matthew Perry, who made her feel comfortable and welcome on the set.

Matthew Perry’s tragic demise

Sadly, we learned about Matthew Perry’s death on October 28. He was found unconscious in a jacuzzi at his home. He was taken to the hospital, but he was already gone. The cause of his death is still unknown, as the initial autopsy didn’t provide clear answers. They are waiting for the results of a toxicology report to learn more. Matthew Perry was 54 years old. His decision to change the show’s storyline will be remembered as a smart move that kept the show’s characters beloved by the audience.

Thalapathy 68: Makers of Vijay starrer drop exciting update on director Venkat Prabhu’s birthday

Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu started the filming of their next film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68 back in October. Earlier this week, we saw Thalapathy Vijay flying off to Thailand for the film’s next schedule and now the producer herself has clarified an update by an official tweet.

Writing a birthday wish for director Venkat Prabhu, producer Archana Kalpathi wrote “Happiest bday to our mad genius @vp_offl. Here is wishing you the best of everything. To many more crazy shoot days and schedules for #Thalapathy68 (Update: Major Action Block being shot in Thailand and yesterday was a night shoot so @vp_offl gets a holiday on his bday).”

Director Venkat Prabhu is celebrating his 48th birthday today and the Maanadu director is busy with the shoots of his first film with Thalapathy Vijay. The team of Thalapathy 68 is believed to be shooting an action block scene in the backdrops of Thailand at night and the schedule is believed to go on for a bit longer.

The team had started the shoot for the film back in October, and it is believed that they finished up a friendship song shoot with Prabhu Deva and Prashanth. The team also launched a pooja ceremony video where they confirmed the complete cast and crew of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer.

Thalapathy Vijay’s last film Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently in the theaters, running successfully. The official update of his next film was given even before Leo had released, confirming director Venkat Prabhu to be helming the project.

Moreover, the official pooja video of the film confirmed that the film would feature various names from the Tamil film industry which includes many prominent actors like Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mic Mohan, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Ajay Raj.

The movie will feature Venkat Prabhu’s cousin and frequent collaborator Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music composer, who is joining in a Thalapathy Vijay film after many years. Furthermore, there are rumors going around that Thalapathy Vijay might collaborate with director S Shankar for a film, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
