Devendra Fadnavis’s swearing-in as Maharashtra CM was delayed due to Eknath Shinde’s reluctance to be sworn in as Deputy CM. Shinde wanted assurances on portfolio allocation. After persuasion, Shinde agreed, and Fadnavis informed the Governor. The oath-taking ceremony proceeded as planned, with both Fadnavis and Shinde taking their oaths.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will visit Bangladesh on December 9. He will meet his counterpart and other officials. This visit follows increased violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Bangladesh recently recalled diplomats from India. An Iskcon priest was arrested. A bus was attacked. Protesters entered the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.

The chief minister also kept to himself the departments of Cabinet Secretariat, Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language, Road Construction, Building Construction, and those departments yet to be distributed to anyone.
