West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seemingly shifting towards a ‘soft Hindutva’ approach ahead of the 2026 elections. Following BJP’s perceived consolidation of Hindu votes, Banerjee announced the ‘Durga Angan’ project, a year-round temple complex. This move, along with the Jagannath Dham inauguration, aims to counter BJP’s religious narrative.
