There’s hope for another film in the blockbuster horror franchise Scream! During his appearance on the Today Show on Thursday, October 24, the franchise’s OG Patrick Dempsey discussed possibly reprising his character, Mark Kincaid, in the future. “I’m waiting on the script,” Dempsey told the talk show host.  

 “There has been a conversation about it. I haven’t seen anything yet, so we’ll see what happens. It’s always good to have a job,” he added. His character that debuted in the franchise’s third installment was a Los Angeles detective investigating the murders of Cotton Weary played by Liev Schreiber. However, he’s yet to reprise his role in the blockbuster film. 

Years later, he is set to appear in the seventh installment of Scream, directed by Kevin Williamson, the screenwriter of Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4. Franchise veteran Courteney Cox is also in talks to return for Scream 7. In a previous interview with Variety, the Friends actress admitted that she’s not officially signed on to the film. Still, she noted that she’s aware of everything that’s going on behind the scenes. She revealed that the team is “rewriting” material all the time. “It’s not like I don’t know what’s going on,” she added. 

The last Scream film released in 2023 revolved around four survivors of the Ghostface murders who move to New York City to start afresh, but soon they find themselves fighting for life when a new blood-thirsty killer embarks on a rampage. 

Although Scream 7 is still in the early stages of development, Dempsey’s involvement confirmed that the story will pivot its focus from Sam and Tara Carpenter, played by newcomers Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, respectively. 

Moreover, Barrera was fired from the franchise for lending her support to the Palestinian cause and criticizing Israeli actions in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. As for Ortega, she dropped out of the project, citing scheduling conflicts. Paramount has set Scream 7 for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026. 

Neelam Kothari is a well-known Bollywood actress who stepped into showbiz when she was 16. After taking over the 80s till the early 2000s, she returned to entertaining the audience with the reality TV series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. During an interview, she recalled sharing the screen with Aamir Khan in the 1991 romantic drama film Afsana Pyar Ka. She stated that Mr Perfectionist was very particular about his scenes and performances.

During a candid chat with Radio Nasha, actor Neelam Kothari went back in time and reminisced how it was to work with Aamir Khan, back in the 90s. The Hum Saath-Saath Hain fame stated that the PK actor was amazing to work with. She added, “He was very, very particular about his scenes and performances. He would say, ‘Let’s do one more shot’ because he is that particular,” adding that sweetness was in the simplicity back then. She also underlined recalled shooting the peppy number Tip Tip with Khan in just three days.

In the same interview, she also shared her experience of working opposite superstar Rajesh Khanna in the 1989 drama Ghar Ka Chiraag. According to Neelam, Khanna was very quiet and reserved on sets. “He was extremely helpful because, for me, Ghar Ka Chirag was a mature character,” the actress stated, adding that an actor’s reaction automatically comes out beautifully when they are working with a legend and an amazing actor like him.

After sharing screen space with Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Kiran Sajdeh in the two seasons of the TV show, she was also offered to play a minor role in Masaba Gupta and Neena Gupta’s Netflix series Masaba Masaba. Soon after, she was seen in one of the segments of Made in Heaven. 

For the unknown, the third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives recently dropped which was renamed Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Apart from the four popular Bollywood wives, it also stars Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, art collector Shalini Passi, and entrepreneur and close friend of several Bollywood stars, Kalyani Saha Chawla.

After enjoying the massive success of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik confirmed producing Dinesh Vijan’s Thamba which is part of his horror comedy universe. While Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are said to be leading the show, reports now suggest that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the negative character in the upcoming movie. 

An industry insider informed Mid-Day that Thamba is set in two periods. A part of it is based in a North Indian city in the present day, and the other part is in the Vijayanagara Empire of the ancient past. Since Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been roped in to play the villain, he has been imagined “as an eccentric yet violent character who lived centuries ago.”

Sharing more details about his character, the source added that the Badlapur fame travels to the present to seek revenge and control the destinies of the two lead characters, played by Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. It was also reported that Siddiqui is looking forward to joining the horror comedy universe and “bringing his own interpretation to the part.”

Back in June, Pinkvilla exclusively shared that Dinesh Vijan is all set to reunite with his Munjya director, Aditya Satpodar. Now, the informed told the publication that the filmmaker plans to do the look test with Nawazuddin after Diwali. Having said that, the Animal actress’ look test was conducted last month while Khurrana gave it recently. With everything in place, the movie might go on floors in November-end or early December, with the first two-week schedule being shot at night in Mumbai. This will be followed by a Delhi schedule in January and the final one in South India.

For the unknown, the movie in question was earlier titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar. Pinkvilla’s sources confirmed the Dream Girl 2 actor’s presence in the film, sharing, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have previously worked together on Bala and share a great creative bond. They have been discussing the film for a while now. It will mark the first collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.”
