INSIDE Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput’s Diwali celebration and Ishaan Khatter’s birthday ft. floral decor, adorable rangoli, tempting cakes & more; PICS

Bollywood celebrities completely immersed themselves in the Diwali 2024 celebrations over the past few days. Mira Rajput has now given a glimpse into the festivities at her and Shahid Kapoor’s home, including Ishaan Khatter’s birthday cake-cutting. The inside pictures featured floral decor, an adorable rangoli, tempting cakes, and more.

Today, November 3, 2024, Mira Rajput took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures showcasing her beautifully decorated home for Diwali. The first picture was of her dining table, which was adorned with cloth mats, vases filled with marigolds, and candles. There was also a vase of flowers kept in the living area. Mira shared a picture of a rangoli in the shape of a diya, which looked like it was made by her kids.

Mira looked stunning in her silver ethnic ensemble as she posed alongside her friend. There was also a group picture of her and Shahid Kapoor with their friends. The couple stood with Ishaan Khatter in one photo during his birthday celebration. Three delicious-looking cakes were kept in front of them.

In the caption, Mira wrote, “Festivities, family & friendship.” She also explained her arrangement for Diwali, saying, “I enjoy putting together a tablescape for our celebrations and special occasions. This one brought together mixed metals, gendha, and buttery blooms.”

She added, “I have a simple (recently developed) motto: use it, don’t store it. Diwali is a great time to bring out your silverware and interesting tidbits collected over time. So bring out the mats you’ve stored away, the odd set of bowls that were gifted but ‘kept away for a better time,’ random gifts that get hidden away and make use of simpler vases when the flowers are intended to be central.”

Many fans appreciated the beautiful arrangement and left red heart emojis in the comments section.

Earlier, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput made a joint post to wish their followers a happy Diwali. Sharing a romantic photoshoot of themselves in ethnic wear, they captioned, “May you all find the Light within.. and beside you. Happy Diwali.”

Eye On Purvanchali Vote, AAP Vs BJP Over Chhat Puja Ghat In Delhi

The festive season in Delhi appears to be headed for a contentious closure with a clash between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the opposition BJP over the ghats for bathing during the coming Chhath puja. The parties have accused each other of being “anti-Purvanchali” and AAP has alleged that the police are deliberately closing down ghats and pushing around the poor who are waiting to celebrate Chhath.

The four-day Chhath puja which started today, is the veneration of the sun. It is the biggest festival of Bihar and Jharkhand and is observed with enthusiasm by the migrant Bihari community across the country. It is also observed in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In the national capital, several ghats on the Yamuna and other water bodies are reserved for the devotees, who bath and make offerings both to the rising and setting sun. The trouble this time is over the Satpula ghat in south Delhi, which has been a traditional spot for Chhath puja.

There was tension between the BJP and AAP supporters and the police came in to restore order.

“The police have resorted to full-scale hooliganism,” senior AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj told reporters today.

“The poor, particularly Dalits, are celebrating Chhath and the police are barricading the ghat so they can’t celebrate. This is being on the instructions of the BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj,” he added.

The BJP’s Shikha Rai, meanwhile, alleged that the DDA group that has clearance to celebrate Chhath, are not being given access to the ghat.

The local MPs and MLAs have been here since yesterday disrupting construction work. The labourers are being beaten up… I don’t understand — if you are anti-Hindu, anti-Purvanchali, why not just say so,” she said.

Putting up tents and portable changing rooms and organising the space on the ghats are among the preparatory work for the celebrations.

The BJP said they have sought clearance from the DDA, and the AAP claims that they have clearance from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

The clash comes ahead of the elections in Delhi, scheduled in February next year, and the support of the Purvanchali community would be crucial for both sides.

Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of former Union minister, Late Sushma Swaraj, and a BJP MP from the national capital, is expected to visit the spot this evening.

On CCTV, Speeding Car Kills Man Bursting Crackers On Road In Pune

Yet another shocking incident of a hit-and-run has been reported from Maharashtra’s Pune. This time it happened on Diwali night when a man who was celebrating the festival on a road was rammed by a speeding car, killing him on the spot.

Soham Patel, who was 35 years old, was bursting firecrackers on the road on Diwali night. CCTV footage of the incident showed him walking towards the middle of the road and trying to light some firecrackers.

Suddenly, a car comes in at a fast speed and hits him from the side. The force of the impact flung him for several metres.

The police said the car did not stop. They are looking at more CCTV cameras along this road to identify the vehicle and its owner.

Pune recently saw a high-profile case of hit-and-run involving a Porche driven by a teen. What made the case highly controversial was the alleged involvement of many people including doctors and the parents to hide the crime by the teen.

On October 11, in another hit-and-run case in Pune, a luxury car rammed a man riding a motorcycle and sped away, after killing him on the spot. The accident happened in the Koregaon Park area near the Google office. The victim was identified as Rauf Akbar Shaikh, who worked as a delivery partner with a food service.
