Exclusive: Vikrant Massey and Lakshya to Begin Shooting for Dostana 2 Next Month

Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 has been one of the most talked about projects of Bollywood since the last five to six years. Fans have been curious to know whether the film is going in the right track. Previously, it was confirmed that Vikrant Massey has replaced Kartik Aaryan. In his interview with Times Now, Vikrant Massey had also shared, “I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.”

Now, our exclusive source has confirmed something exciting. Interestingly, Vikrant Massey and Lakshya are slated to begin shooting for Dostana 2 next month. That’s right. The movie’s filming is finally progressing. Our source has revealed, “Vikrant Massey and Lakshya are scheduled to begin filming for Dostana 2 in February. While additional details remain under wraps, their collaboration is expected to be an exciting one.”

Neither Karan Johar, nor the other makers have confirmed about the newer developments. Janhvi Kapoor is also a part of the movie, but her shooting schedule hasn’t been revealed yet.

All about Dostana 2

Dostana 2 is set to serve as a successor to Tarun Mansukhani and Karan Johar’s 2008 hit Dostana. The original film starred Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the quintessential desi girl, with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan hilariously competing for her affection while posing as a gay couple. The film struck a chord with audiences through its blend of humour and warmth. It remains to be seen whether Dostana 2 can live up to the expectations set by its much-loved predecessor.

On the professional front, Vikrant Massey hasn’t announced any other projects yet. Lakshya will be seen in Chand Mera Dil, opposite Ananya Panday. Janhvi Kapoor has also not announced her upcoming release.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli Buy Land Worth Rs 37.86 Crores in Alibaugâs Raigad District

Actor-cricketer duo Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have jointly purchased a large land in Raigad district, Alibaug. The total cost of the purchase stands at Rs 37.86 crores. As per documents from CRE Matrix, a real estate consultancy firm,  the transaction happened on January 13, 2026.

The plots are adjoining to one another, located at Village Zirad, Gat Nos. 157 and 158, Alibag, Raigad district (402201). Abhishek Kiran Gupta, chief executive of CRE Matrix, said, “Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma buying an over 21,000 sq metre land parcel in Alibaug is a textbook ‘celebrity signal’ moment. Deals of this size typically reset local land benchmarks—especially when backed by a ₹2.27 crore stamp duty outlay, which confirms transaction seriousness.”

This marks yet another real estate investment for the duo in Alibaug. Back in 2022, the duo bought close to eight acres of land via two individual deals worth Rs 19.24 crores from real estate firm Samira Habitats. The land has since been developed into a lavish holiday residence.

The property purchase by Kohli and Sharma further expands the roster of celebrity investments in Alibaug, underscoring how the coastal town has transitioned from a popular weekend getaway to a sought-after hub for luxury living. Other celebrities who have plot in Alibaug include Kartik Aaryan, Amitabh Bachchan, Suhana Khan and more.

As per Business Standard, the details include

As per the documents, the combined landholding measures 21,010 sq metres or approximately 5.19 acres.

Plot 1 (Gat No. 157):

Area: 14,740 sq metres

Plot 2 (Gat No. 158):

Area: 6,270 sq metres

The seller is Sonali Amit Rajput. Samira Land Assets Private Limited is listed as the confirming party. The buyers paid stamp duty of Rs 2.27 crores. It is in line with Maharashtra’s applicable rates.

For those unaware, as per the government challans and receipts annexed to the deed:

Stamp duty paid: Rs 2,27,16,000

Registration fee: Rs 30,000
Document handling charges: Rs 1,000

The payments were made through State Bank of India via GRAS challans and duly acknowledged by the Joint Sub-Registrar, Alibaug.
