Esha Deol Opens Up About Missing Love and Romance After Divorce

Esha Deol recently opened up about the absence of love and romance in her life, revealing that despite her divorce, her belief in relationships remains unchanged. She also shared that her idea of love has always been shaped by the relationship between her parents, late Dharmendra and Hema Malini.
Speaking to Curly Tales, she said, “I think love and romance are the most important things in a person’s life, which I am currently missing. I love to be romantic. I am a complete rom-com person. I love love songs and I love love stories.”

When asked whether her idea of love had changed over the years, especially after her divorce from Bharat Takhtani, Esha said it hadn’t. The actress continued, “No, these things don’t change. Breakups happen. I have had boyfriends in the past whom I broke up with. These things happen, but that doesn’t dilute my ultimate idea of love.”
She then recalled growing up witnessing the unconditional love shared by her parents.
Esha said, “We all grew up seeing the unconditional love between Hema ji and Dharmendra ji. There was dignity to it. There was respect in it and there was unconditional love. We all have loved Dharmendra ji so much. I don’t know how I have held myself together today. I mean, I love him and he is in my heart.”

Speaking about the values instilled in her by her late father, she added, “The best advice he gave me was to always hold your dignity and self-respect. These were two words we always used. And regarding the relationship between sisters, he always said there should be love and affection between all of you. These words come at the right time and hit you hard.”
Esha Deol married businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012. The former couple, who share two daughters, announced their separation in February 2024 after 11 years of marriage.
