Rakesh Bedi Jokes About Being Upset With Farah Khan for Never Casting Him

Rakesh Bedi has been getting a lot of attention for his standout performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The Aditya Dhar directorial turned into a massive box office success and even went on to break records. In the film, Rakesh stepped into the role of a clever and calculating Pakistani politician, a character that clearly left a strong impression on audiences.

Recently, filmmaker Farah Khan visited Rakesh at his home to shoot a vlog for her YouTube channel. During their candid conversation, Rakesh jokingly admitted that he still holds a complaint against her for never casting him in any of her films. Sharing his thoughts, he said, “I am also very angry with you because you never took me in any of your films.”

Farah responded in her usual witty style, asking, “Mereko bol kaunsi picture main tere liye role achha tha.” She even brought up how Satish Shah was cast in Main Hoon Na. But Rakesh wasn’t convinced and playfully replied, “Do dialogues bahut common hai humari industry main, arey tu bata kaunsi film main leta aur dusra, ‘Agli film mein pakka lunga!’” The lighthearted exchange soon turned into laughter, with Farah promising him a role in her next film and Rakesh admitting he could never truly stay upset with her.

Dhyan Sreenivasan Steps Into Spooky Territory With Secret of Kalinga First Look

Dhyan Sreenivasan Steps Into Spooky Territory With Secret of Kalinga First Look

Dhyan Sreenivasan is diving into an intriguing new genre space with his upcoming film Secret of Kalinga, whose first look was unveiled by the makers on social media. Positioned as a mystery-horror-comedy, the film appears to lean into an offbeat tonal mix that Malayalam cinema has increasingly experimented with in recent years.

The poster introduces Dhyan at the centre of the chaos, joined by Riyaz Khan, Althaf Salim and content creator Nithin Parameswar. The visual hints at a narrative that blends eerie undertones with a sense of irreverent humour, suggesting a film that does not take itself too seriously even while dealing with supernatural elements.

Directed by Saneesh Unnikrishnan, the project marks another attempt to tap into the growing appetite for genre-bending storytelling. Saneesh has co-written the screenplay with Jishnu M Aaryan, indicating a collaborative writing approach that could play to the film’s tonal balancing act.

A Fresh Crew And Genre Blend

On the technical front, Secret of Kalinga brings together a relatively young crew. Cinematography is handled by Asrith Santhosh, while editing duties are taken up by Aswanth Raveendran. Music for the film is composed by Gokul Sreekandan, with the background score jointly crafted by Dhanush Harikumar and Vimaljith Vijayan.

The film is backed by producers Basheer Varandharappilly and Sulthan under the banner Aira Films. While the makers have kept plot specifics tightly under wraps, the title itself hints at a story rooted in mystery, possibly tied to folklore or hidden histories. The horror-comedy space has proven to be fertile ground for inventive storytelling, and the team appears keen to tap into that potential.

For Dhyan, the project marks yet another addition to his steadily expanding filmography, often characterised by his knack for situational humour and self-aware performances. His presence in a genre that demands both comic timing and an ability to navigate suspense could prove to be a compelling watch.

Dhyan’s Recent Outing

The actor was last seen in Kalyanamaram, directed by Rajesh Amanakara. The family drama featured a more grounded narrative and saw Dhyan sharing screen space with child actor Devananda, known for her role in Malikappuram. With Secret of Kalinga, he appears to be shifting gears into a more experimental zone.

As Malayalam cinema continues to diversify its genre palette, films like this signal a willingness to blend mainstream appeal with unconventional storytelling choices. Whether Secret of Kalinga leans more into scares or satire remains to be seen, but its first look certainly suggests a film that is eager to entertain through unpredictability.

Dhanushâs Wunderbar Films Announces Production 20

Dhanush’s home banner Wunderbar Films has officially revealed its next project, tentatively titled Production 20. The announcement marks another step in the production house’s continued effort to back fresh voices in Tamil cinema while balancing star-driven ventures.

The film will be written and directed by Ramesh Nandhan, who makes his feature film debut with the project. Having previously worked in the space of music videos, Ramesh now transitions into long-form storytelling with a film that is expected to introduce a new creative vision under the Wunderbar banner.

Joining Dhanush on the production front is Haritha Lingasamy of Primark Productions, indicating a collaborative push behind the scenes. Details regarding the film’s cast and technical crew remain under wraps for now, adding a layer of intrigue to the announcement.

A banner with a track record of bold choices

Since its inception, Wunderbar Films has built a reputation for backing distinctive and often unconventional projects. The company’s first production, 3, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, set the tone for a banner willing to experiment with narrative styles and emerging talent.

Over the years, the production house has delivered a diverse slate that includes commercial entertainers and critically acclaimed films. Titles such as Ethir Neechal and Velaiilla Pattadhari showcased mainstream appeal, while films like Kaaka Muttai and Visaranai earned critical acclaim and international recognition.

The banner has also backed stylish crowd-pleasers such as Naanum Rowdydhaan and large-scale ventures like Kaala, starring Rajinikanth. With Vada Chennai, Wunderbar further cemented its credibility in delivering layered storytelling rooted in realism.

Most recently, the banner produced Idli Kadai, which was both directed by and starred Dhanush, reinforcing his growing presence as a filmmaker in his own right.

Looking ahead, Wunderbar Films is also backing Dhanush’s upcoming project, tentatively titled D55, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The film features a notable ensemble including Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi, signalling another high-profile venture in the pipeline.

Dhanush the actor stays busy

On the acting front, Dhanush shows no signs of slowing down. The actor is set to appear next in Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja. The film boasts a diverse ensemble cast, including Mamitha Baiju, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KS Ravikumar, Karunaas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, MS Bhaskar and Sreeja Ravi.

With Production 20, Dhanush continues to strengthen his dual role as both actor and producer, consistently championing new voices while maintaining a strong foothold in mainstream cinema. As more details about the project emerge, expectations will naturally build around how this collaboration shapes up within the evolving landscape of Tamil filmmaking.
