Mary Kom steps down as India’s chef-de-mission for Paris Olympics due to personal reasons, as announced by IOA. Her decision was respected by PT Usha, who will soon announce a replacement. Kom will continue to support the athletes. Her appointment was first announced by the IOA on March 21. Usha said she had a conversation with Mary Kom after receiving her letter.

K Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao,  was arrested by the CBI on Thursday from judicial custody in Tihar jail, where she has been lodged after her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED)
