A sub-inspector, identified as Manoj Tomar and in charge of the Inderlok police post in north Delhi, has been suspended for reportedly assaulting members of a congregation during Friday namaz. The incident, captured in a widely circulated video on social media, depicts Tomar pushing and instructing the worshippers to vacate the busy road. Subsequently, he is shown kicking and striking two to three individuals, leading to widespread public outrage.
According to a spokesperson from China’s foreign ministry on Friday, the increase in troop presence by India at the contested border is viewed as counterproductive to the alleviation of tensions. The Uttar Bharat (UB) Area in Bareilly, primarily designated for administrative, training, and peacetime purposes, is set to undergo transformation into a fully-fledged corps. This restructuring involves the incorporation of additional infantry, artillery, aviation, air defense, and engineer brigades.
