When Zeenat Aman Said She Wanted to Play Miranda Priestly From The Devil Wears Prada

When The Devil Wears Prada first hit screens, it didn’t just entertain; it became a full-blown phenomenon. With its razor-sharp writing, unforgettable fashion moments, and iconic performances, the film has emerged as a fan favourite even today. At the centre of it all was the formidable Miranda Priestly, brought to life with effortless brilliance by Meryl Streep, whose portrayal turned the character into a global benchmark for power and poise on screen.
But Miranda’s influence didn’t stop at Hollywood. In a candid reflection on iconic roles she admired, veteran actor Zeenat Aman once revealed her desire to step into Miranda Priestly’s stilettos.
She once took to social media to share photos from a new shoot and, along with it, spoke about the roles she would want to play. It included Waheeda Rehman’s role in Guide, Madhubala’s in Mughal-e-Azam, Meryl Streep’s in The Devil Wears Prada and Sridevi’s role in English Vinglish, among others.

Sharing her photos, the veteran actress had written, “Good morning, everyone. How do you like this look? I find it quite (Audrey) Hepburn inspired! As a model and actor, creative collaborations are so interesting because you get to see yourself as others see you. It also involves trust and patience. Speaking of Hepburn has me thinking about all the talented actors whose work I’ve enjoyed over the years. Here’s a list of iconic roles I would have loved to play: 1. Tanya McQuoid in White Lotus, played with dotty perfection by Jennifer Coolidge. 2. Rosie in Guide, played by the ever-graceful Waheeda Rehman. 3. Anarkali in Mughal-e-Azam, played exquisitely by Madhubala. 4. Cesira in Two Women, played so unflinchingly by Sophia Loren. 5. Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada, played with icy nonchalance by Meryl Streep.”
She added, “I just have to appreciate the acting prowess of all these women. They gave us characters that will resonate for decades.”

And truth be told, Zeenat Aman would make for a compelling Miranda Priestly herself. With her signature blend of effortless glamour, quiet authority, and a screen presence that commands attention without ever raising its voice, she embodies the very traits that make Miranda so unforgettable.
20th Century Studios will release The Devil Wears Prada 2 in cinemas on May 1 2026.

CBFC Orders Bhooth Bangla Makers to Remove Obscene Words Certification Granted

Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla is gearing up for its release on April 17, 2026. The trailer for the movie was also released some time back, with a grand launch in Mumbai. Recent developments suggest that the movie has also passed the CBFC process with a UA 16+ certification. However, the makers have been asked to make minor changes before running it in the theatres.

The certification process began on April 2. The board members reviewed the film and asked the makers to change certain things. The makers were asked to replace an obscene word at the 26th minute. Some other questionable words were also asked to be replaced. The final cut was accepted by the committee on April 11. The revised runtime stands at 164.52 minutes or 2 hours 44 minutes and 52 seconds. After the changes made, 10 minutes of the original runtime has been deducted.

The makers recently unveiled the trailer of the movie. It shows glimpses of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s reunion after 14 years. While the teaser only sets the mood, the trailer reveals a concrete and engaging storyline that is both funny and entertaining. Gripping from start to finish, it perfectly balances the humour quotient, showcasing the film’s strength in keeping the audience hooked throughout.

Akshay Kumar returns to what he does best. With the golden trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav, along with Asrani adding the perfect sprinkle of laughter, the trailer wins hearts and triggers plenty of laughs.

In the trailer, Akshay Kumar is determined to slay the notorious Vadhusur while lifting off a curse from the otherwise peaceful city of Mangalpur. He decides to get married in the city, only to be warned by Asrani that the city is cursed. No marriages happen in Mangalpur due to Vadhusur’s clutches.

Alongside Akshay, the movie also stars the late Asrani, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta and Mithila Palkar. It is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor. The advance paid previews begin in theatres April 16, 2026 onwards.

Radikaa Sarathkumar Teams Up With Gopi Nainar for Social Drama Colony

Even as uncertainty surrounds the release of Manushi, filmmaker Gopi Nainar has already set the wheels in motion for his next project. Titled Colony, the film brings together the director and Radikaa Sarathkumar for the first time, marking an intriguing collaboration rooted in socially relevant storytelling.

A New Collaboration Takes Shape

True to Gopi Nainar’s filmography, Colony is expected to spotlight a pressing social issue, a space the director has consistently gravitated towards. While plot specifics remain tightly under wraps, the project is already generating interest for its thematic promise and strong casting.

Joining Radikaa in the ensemble are Anjali Nair and MS Bhaskar, both known for their ability to anchor emotionally driven narratives. Their presence hints at a film that will likely balance realism with compelling character arcs, a hallmark of Gopi’s storytelling style.

Backing the film is producer R Nagarajan under the Aditi Movies banner, further strengthening the project’s foundation. With a team that blends seasoned talent and proven collaborators, Colony is shaping up to be a film that aims for both impact and accessibility.

A Strong Technical Backbone

One of the most striking aspects of Colony is its experienced technical crew. Veteran composer Deva, who has contributed to over 375 films, is on board to handle the music. Known for his ability to create instantly catchy and emotionally resonant tracks, Deva’s involvement adds a layer of nostalgia and credibility. His last outing was Anantha, directed by Suresh Krissna.

Cinematography will be helmed by R Velraj, whose visual sensibilities have elevated several Tamil films, while editing duties are entrusted to Anthony, a long-time collaborator on many high-profile projects. Action sequences will be choreographed by Kanal Kannan, and lyrics will be penned by Yugabharathi, rounding off a technically robust lineup.

For Radikaa Sarathkumar, Colony continues a phase where she is increasingly taking centre stage in performance-driven narratives. Following her recent success with Thaai Kizhavi, this film marks her second consecutive outing as a lead actor, signalling a strong resurgence in author-backed roles.

The veteran actor also has an exciting slate ahead, including the bilingual Vishwanath & Sons, which stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju. With projects spanning different languages and genres, Radikaa appears to be curating a diverse and dynamic lineup.

Meanwhile, Gopi Nainar has a busy period ahead. Apart from Colony, he is awaiting the release of Manushi, which stars Andrea Jeremiah in the lead, and Karuppar Nagaram, featuring Jai. The filmmaker also recently appeared in a supporting role in My Lord, headlined by Sasikumar and directed by Raju Murugan.

With Colony, Gopi seems poised to return to familiar terrain while also exploring new collaborative dynamics. The film not only marks a significant partnership with Radikaa but also reinforces his commitment to cinema that engages with real-world concerns.

What to Expect

While it is still early days for Colony, the combination of a socially conscious director, a seasoned lead actor, and a dependable technical crew sets the stage for a potentially compelling film. If Gopi Nainar’s past work is anything to go by, audiences can expect a narrative that does not shy away from uncomfortable truths while remaining grounded in strong storytelling.

For now, all eyes are on how this collaboration unfolds, especially with Radikaa Sarathkumar at the forefront of a narrative that promises both depth and relevance.
