Reacting to a viral video from Maharashtra’s Thane district showing a shop owner being assaulted allegedly for not speaking in Marathi, Union Minister Chirag Paswan strongly condemned the incident.

The incident took place near the ‘Panache’ Hotel in the Gandhi Maidan police station area when BJP leader Gopal Khema was on his way home.

Businessman Gopal Khemka was murdered near Gandhi Maidan in Patna, mirroring the earlier killing of his son, BJP leader Gunjan Khemka, in 2018. Police are investigating the shooting, having recovered a bullet and shell from the scene. The incident has sparked political criticism, with RJD leaders condemning the government’s handling of law and order.
