Holliday Grainger is back with the third season of her famous show The Capture. The show explores the dangers of AI-driven, deepfake technology. During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, when the discussion went to actors facing troubles due to AI technology and recent surge in deepfake trend, Holliday shared her take on the challenges.

She said, “For actors, it is something that we have been using for quite a while – in terms of, motion capture. There has been a lot of confusion but I have never seen it done. As in, I have never actually seen myself AI-d. In season 2, I was AI-d a bit. They actually did deep fake me. When Carey was deep fake, it wasn’t me playing.”

She added, “But my example is something that is solely just about actors. Truth be told, it is quite a scary thing for women in general out there. And that it’s so easy now for anyone, at the touch of a button, to deep fake anyone else. We are in the world of growing social media. All our images are out there. There are only very few people that you couldn’t attempt to deep fake.”

In The Capture, Holliday plays the role of DI Rachel Carey. She is the lead protagonist who uncovers and fights against a shadowy, government-sanctioned surveillance system. The series revolves around Correction. It is an AI-powered video-manipulation program that can alter video footage in real-time. This is used to eventually create false narratives and complicate things.

The show is set largely in London. It highlights a world filled with CCTV cameras and facial recognition and focuses on the negative side of technology.

Janhvi Kapoor’s special glimpse was released by the makers of Peddi to celebrate her birthday on Friday. Director Buchi Babu Sana, known for his raw and aesthetic visual narration in his debut film Uppena, took to social media to talk about Janhvi’s transformation for her role in the Ram Charan-starrer.

“Loved working with you and super excited for the world to see your powerful avatar as Achiyamma on screen,” he wrote. Far from the glitz and glamour usually associated with her Bollywood persona, Janhvi is set to portray a beautiful village belle in the pan-Indian release. According to Buchi Babu Sana, the character is defined by her natural grace rather than external finery. “She doesn’t need ornamentation. She is elegant the way she is,” he noted.

This earthy spirit is perfectly mirrored in the film’s music. We are talking about the chartbuster song Chikiri, which has already captured the audience’s imagination. After making a splash with her Telugu debut in Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1 alongside Jr NTR, she is now cementing her place in Tollywood. Peddi is scheduled to be released in theatres on April 30.

Admiration for Ram Charan

Janhvi Kapoor also shared her admiration for Ram Charan’s professionalism and dedication on the sets of Peddi. Sharing that she is having a blast on the sets of the Buchi Babu directorial, the actress stated that she is playing a different and interesting role in the film. “I think the character isn’t like any conventional heroine. Buchi Babu is a rooted director, and his earlier film Uppena is superb,” Janhvi said.

Bats against online bullying

The other day, Janhvi Kapoor spoke out against the online bullying and harassment of her half-brother, actor Arjun Kapoor. In an interview, Janhvi addressed the broader culture of social media negativity and trolling directed at celebrities.

Radhikka Madan steps into a ferocious character in Anil Kapoor’s action-drama Subedaar. Fierce, volatile, and emotionally layered, Madan’s character Shyama is not just a presence in Arjun Maurya’s (Anil Kapoor) world, she is a force that challenges it. Beneath the hardened exterior lies a woman shaped by survival, carrying wounds that run far deeper than they appear.

Recalling why she agreed to the film during the narration itself, Radhikka Madan said, “This is the first film, jahan par maine narration mein hi, I said yes. (This is the first film where I have said yes during narration.) Subedaar was one thing that was being offered to me for a long time. When Suresh Sir narrated it to me, in the narration only, I said yes. The way he (Suresh Triveni) narrated it, the soul of the story is something that really pulled me. People have offered me characters which are physically strong, jahan pe thoda action hota hai, yeh hota hai, woh hota hai, jo bahar se bohot strong dikhti hai (where there is some action, this happens, that happens, the character looks very strong from outside), but I think the core of Shyama is so vulnerable. She is so soft inside. That layer really excited me because she’s so broken. Everything else is a facade.

Speaking about the vulnerability behind Shyama’s strength, the actress added, “Her strength is a facade. Her survival is a facade. There’s a reason why she’s not soft in the world because her survival instinct is really, really high. She doesn’t feel safe anywhere. And she keeps running from things. So I think those layers really excited me and made me say yes to the character.
