A Chennai-based YouTuber and his employees were arrested for allegedly running a gold smuggling operation through their souvenir shop at the Chennai airport. The employees were trained to hide gold in their rectums and deliver it to customers outside the airport. Customs officers estimate a significant amount of gold was smuggled.

The incident took place in Neral in Maharashtra’s Raigad district at the residence of Narayan Surve, a celebrated poet and social activist who passed away in 2010 at the age of 84

Court ordered forthwith release of the appellant who had been in jail for eight years, saying he could not have been convicted on the basis of a very doubtful evidence related to his identity.
