Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is scheduled to release on October 18, 2024. Apart from its original English dub, the movie will now release in three Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Legendary screenwriter and father of SS Rajamouli, V Vijayendra Prasad has been working on the new dubs. He is known for his work in Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and RRR. With the new dubbed versions, the makers are aiming to reach wider audiences across India.

In an official statement, the makers noted, “The Ramayana, a story deeply woven into the cultural fabric of India, carries timeless values and lessons that resonate far beyond its borders, influencing cultures across East Asia and beyond. Now remastered in breathtaking 4K resolution with immersive 5.1 surround sound, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is our heartfelt tribute to the people of India. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this masterpiece with the world once again. Additionally, we are proud to announce that the film will comply with the latest guidelines set by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) of India, incorporating enhanced accessibility features for the hearing impaired, ensuring a more inclusive viewing experience for all.”

Leading Bollywood art director and production designer Rajat Poddar passed away at the age of 53. He died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in London.

He is known for working in popular films such as Rabir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s Barfi, Saif Ali Khan’s Phantom, while his other notable movies include – Gunday, Jagga Jasoos and Fighter. He was also the production designer of Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Besides films, he worked on prominent TV shows such as The Delhi Files. He was popularly known as Rajat Da by his industry colleagues and peers.

The Indian Film TV Producers Council and The Federation of Western India Cine Employees mourned his demise. Several filmmakers such as Anees Bazmee, Vivek Agnihotri and Ashoke Pandit expressed their shock at his passing away and offered condolences. Poddar’s prolific work in art designing fetched him the Filmfare Award for Best Art Direction, besides other accolades.
