A newly registered Bangladesh Minority Janta Party (BMJP) aims to contest 91 seats in the upcoming elections, targeting Hindu and minority votes. The party’s president seeks alliances with mainstream parties like BNP or Jamaat-e-Islami to ensure minority safety and participation, advocating for a secular Bangladesh and protection of Hindu rights.

The High Court said the awards signify national recognition but do not alter an individual’s legal identity, underscoring the need for accuracy in their formal and legal use.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Congress lacked both intent and policy commitment towards rural employment and had used Mahatma Gandhi’s name for electoral gains.
