At least eight Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces on Saturday in Chhattisgarh’s Abujhmarh area, located in the Narayanpur district. During the exchange of fire, one soldier lost his life, and two others were injured. The encounter in the Maad and Narayanpur districts has been ongoing for the past two days.

The Governor issued the statement, mentioning that the police personnel at the Raj Bhavan were not allowing the victims of post-poll violence in the state to meet him.

The high court also directed the social media intermediaries to take down similar content if it is brought to their notice that it has been re-posted
