Thousands of tourists were stranded in Manali for a second day due to icy roads and a massive traffic surge. Exit routes saw jams exceeding 10km, forcing tourists to walk on ice in sub-zero temperatures. Many spent the night shivering in vehicles, describing the ordeal as nightmarish.

A 23-year-old Hindu mechanic, Chanchal Chandra Bhowmik, was tragically burnt alive in his Narsingdi workshop after it was deliberately set ablaze while he slept. Despite assurances of minority protection, this planned arson, captured on CCTV, saw Chanchal trapped and unable to escape the flames. Police are investigating and forming a team to apprehend the perpetrators.
