Ghaziabad police arrested two men for allegedly murdering a friend as part of an occult ritual. The victim, Naveen, was killed and his body set ablaze inside an auto. The accused confessed to meeting a tantrik who suggested human sacrifice for wealth. They attacked Naveen with a gas cylinder. Evidence including the auto and cylinder were recovered.

The former CJI said bail before conviction should be a matter of right, but in cases where national security is involved, the court has the duty to examine the case in depth.

Police in Bareilly detained 12 people for offering namaz in Hanif’s vacant house in Mohammadganj village without permission. Three are absconding.
