Sukhbir Singh Badal, undergoing religious penance at the Golden Temple, faced an assassination attempt by Narayan Singh Chaura. Despite security attempts, Chaura fired a shot which was deflected harmlessly by a volunteer’s quick action. Badal, uninjured, remained calm and continued his duties in the face of danger.

The Amritsar police commissioner said they are deeply investigating the assassination bid on SAD leader Sukhbir Badal from all angles, and it will be as transparent as possible for all to see
