India has rejected Canada’s diplomatic claims labeling its High Commissioner as a ‘person of interest’ in an investigation. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs called these allegations baseless and politically motivated, accusing Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau of using anti-India rhetoric to gain political support domestically.

Former MLA Baba Siddique was shot outside his son’s office in Bandra East. Assailants fled through a Durga Puja procession, neutralizing Siddique’s police guard with pepper spray. Police apprehended two suspects in a nearby park, seizing automatic pistols and magazines. A case has been registered.

Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique and his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique both were on the radar of shooters, said police sources on Sunday.
