Arshad Warsi on Prabhas’ joker comment controversy: ‘I will love every actor for the rest of my life’

Arshad Warsi was embroiled in a controversy after he commented on Prabhas’ character in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. His statement did not sit well with fans and invited sharp criticism from various quarters. However, during an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Arshad revealed that he was shocked by the negativity he received at first, but these things don’t matter to him anymore.

The Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. actor expressed that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and since we live in a democratic nation, individuals have the freedom to say what they feel. He further mentioned, “If you are a positive person, anything negative does bother you. However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn’t bother me anymore.”

When questioned about disabling the comment section on his Instagram, Arshad humorously responded that he isn’t even aware of how to do that.

When asked if this incident has made him more careful about what to say in public, the actor admitted that it has. He said, “Absolutely, I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life.”

For those who aren’t aware of this controversy, it started when Arshad appeared on YouTuber Samdish Bhatia’s channel and spoke about the film Kalki 2898 AD. While he lauded Amitabh Bachchan’s role, he made a snarky remark on Prabhas. He said that the actor looked like a “joker” in the movie.

He said, “Prabhas, I am really sad; why was he? He was like a joker. Why? I want to see Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there.”

After the incident, director Nag Ashwin and actor Nani appeared to criticize Arshad for his remarks. However, in a previous media interaction, Arshad clarified that his comments were directed towards the character, not the individual.

Moving ahead, Arshad is all set for the release of his upcoming film Bandaa Singh. The movie will hit the big screens on October 25.

Arshad Warsi breaks silence over backlash on ‘joker’ comment on Prabhas: ‘It doesn’t bother me anymore’

Actor Arshad Warsi found himself in hot water after his ‘joker’ remark about Prabhas’ character in Kalki 2898 AD sparked backlash from fans. Addressing the controversy, Warsi has finally broken his silence, admitting that the criticism no longer fazes him, saying, “It doesn’t bother me anymore.” In his signature lighthearted style, he added with a laugh that he will love every actor for the rest of his life.

In a recent interview with India Today, Arshad Warsi shared that it was the first time he felt he was on the receiving end of backlash. He acknowledged that negativity can affect positive individuals, noting that while everyone is entitled to their opinions in a democratic society, he has reached a point where such criticism no longer impacts him.

He said, “However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn’t bother me anymore.”

In the wake of the controversy, some noticed that the Banda Singh Chaudhary actor had disabled comments on his social media accounts. When asked about this, he humorously admitted that he doesn’t know how to do it.

He also addressed whether the incident had made him more cautious about his public comments, expressing his new approach to film appreciation. With a lighthearted tone, he mentioned, “I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life.”

Arshad Warsi also noted that some people speculated he had stirred up the controversy to promote his upcoming film. He pointed out that while it’s not uncommon for individuals to fabricate controversies for content creation, he was unaware of his film’s release schedule when the incident occurred. Emphasizing the unpredictability of such situations, he remarked that one can never plan for controversies or their outcomes.

In August, during a conversation with Samdish Bhatia on his podcast, the actor was asked to identify the last disappointing film he had seen. He mentioned Kalki 2898 AD and expressed his dismay over Prabhas‘ portrayal, comparing him to a joker.

Arshad elaborated on his thoughts, saying he longed for a more intense performance, reminiscent of Mel Gibson in Mad Max. He questioned why such creative choices were made, expressing his confusion about the direction taken with the film.

Following his remarks, several celebrities from the Telugu film industry, including actors Nani and Sudheer Babu, along with director Ajay Bhupathi, criticized Arshad Warsi for his choice of words. They suggested that he could have expressed his opinions more thoughtfully.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Arshad Warsi is gearing up to entertain audiences with his upcoming performance in Jolly LLB 3. He is also set to appear in Banda Singh Chaudhary, produced by Arbaaz Khan and featuring Meher Vij.

Israel Claims It Found $500 Million In “Secret” Hezbollah Bunker In Beirut

Israel on Monday said it has declassified intelligence which claims the presence of a secret Hezbollah financial hub beneath a Beirut hospital. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the bunker contained hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold, allegedly used to fund the group’s operations.

This disclosure followed a series of targeted airstrikes conducted by the Israeli Air Force on Sunday night, aimed at Hezbollah’s financial assets. IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari provided detailed information during a televised briefing, stating, “Tonight, I am going to declassify intelligence on a site that we did not strike-where Hezbollah has millions of dollars in gold and cash in Hassan Nasrallah’s bunker. The bunker is located directly under Al-Sahel Hospital in the heart of Beirut.”

Hagari said that the site had not been struck yet, despite the alleged presence of significant financial resources. “According to estimates, there is at least half a billion dollars in dollar bills and gold stored in this bunker. This money could and still can be used to rebuild the state of Lebanon,” he said.

Sunday night’s airstrikes targeted nearly 30 Hezbollah-linked locations, including sites operated by Al-Qard Al-Hassan (AQAH), a financial firm linked to Hezbollah. AQAH, though registered as a charity, has been accused by both Israel and the United States of serving as a critical financial arm of Hezbollah, facilitating its access to cash and gold reserves for military purposes.

Hagari claimed that one of the key targets was an underground vault containing tens of millions of dollars in cash and gold, resources that were allegedly being used to fund attacks on Israel. While Hagari did not clarify whether all the funds were destroyed in the strike, he said that further airstrikes could be expected, particularly targeting additional financial hubs.

The strikes followed an intensified Israeli effort to disrupt Hezbollah’s finances. According to IDF Chief of Staff Lt Gen Herzi Halevi, the campaign involved over 300 strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon over a 24-hour period, including critical financial and logistical hubs.

Al-Qard Al-Hassan has operated in Lebanon since the 1980s, providing credit to Lebanese citizens in exchange for gold deposits. While officially classified as a charity, Israeli and US officials argue that the firm is a critical asset in Hezbollah’s financial network, enabling the group to launder money and finance its activities under the guise of civilian banking.

The Lebanese people and the Iranian regime are Hezbollah’s two main sources of income, Hagari claimed. He alleged that the financial mechanisms used by the group, which include cash transfers through Syria and gold smuggled into Lebanon via Iran. Factories operated by Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Turkey are allegedly used to generate substantial income to support the group’s terror activities, according to IDF intelligence.

In a related development, Israel carried out an airstrike on Monday in Syria, targeting the head of Hezbollah’s financial unit, known as Unit 4400. The unit is responsible for the flow of Iranian funds to Hezbollah, primarily through proceeds from Tehran’s oil sales. The unnamed commander, who had only been in the role for a few weeks, was killed in the strike, according to Hagari.

This marks the second significant assassination of a Hezbollah financial figure in recent weeks. In early October, Israeli forces killed Mohammed Jafar Ksir, also known as Sheikh Salah, the previous head of Hezbollah’s financial operations. Ksir had long overseen the group’s revenue streams, which have been integral to its military and political influence in Lebanon.

The latest Israeli operations came amid an escalation in hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, which have been ongoing since Hezbollah launched a series of attacks in solidarity with Hamas following the October 7 attacks in 2023.

Israeli officials estimate that approximately 2,000 Hezbollah fighters have been killed since the conflict widened in late September 2023. Hezbollah has retaliated with rocket attacks on Israeli towns and military positions, including a recent barrage aimed at an intelligence base near Tel Aviv.
