Pune’s police commissioner refuted claims of deteriorating law and order after a woman’s rape complaint was found to be false and misleading. Investigations revealed inconsistencies in her account, including a consensual encounter and a self-authored threat message. The woman, an IT professional, has been referred to counselling, and a professor who advised her is also being questioned.
