The single has reached nearly eight million streams, firmly establishing Kunwarr as part of the most rapidly ascending voices in new Punjabi pop, among the likes of Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon.

With Sanu Hi Pata, Kunwarr makes a deliberate pivot. Where Piche Tere is propelled by energy and movement, this release leans into mood and intimacy, built on warm guitars, hazy production, and a retro-pop feel. The shift signals an artist confident enough to slow the tempo, expanding his emotional range without stepping away from a contemporary sonic identity.

“After all the love Piche Tere has been receiving worldwide, Sanu Hi Pata came from a very honest place, it’s one of those songs that doesn’t try too hard, it just says exactly what it feels like”, says Kunwarr.

Born into Punjabi tradition with a passion for hip-hop, Kunwarr relocated to Mumbai to study filmmaking before heading to Toronto, carrying pan-Indian roots into the global music landscape. He began professional releases in 2021, and his debut EP soon charted on the BBC Asia network, signalling early promise.
